We picked up a new 24 badlands sasquatch this weekend to replace my wife's previous Big Bend..

The first thing I noticed was how much more solid the doors felt over my 21 badlands...

Question of the day is.... What can i do to tighten up the window flop or what did Ford change to fix it on the new ones?? I have already pulled the lower plugs and pushed the assemblies towards the exterior. that worked slightly, but the windows still flop around terribly.

New one yet to be named:

I had a 21 and now a 23. I know what you mean. I think the seals got thicker. It feels more sturdy. Also changes most people don't tell you, the parking brake lever changed. My guess is people were breaking them in 2021s thinking they were the hood latch release. And finally the most underrated feature of all, the auto high beams fade on and off making it less fatiguing on your eyes and less jarring to other drivers thinking they're being flashed. Absolutely love that feature.

Wonder if the dimming headlights are a forscan option

Pretty sure they are a hardware change. You’d need certain resistors to do the dimming required. I bet you could find takeoff OEM headlights from a 23+ and it would work automatically

The doors are the same.
The frame of the door may be the same, but there is something different internally.. The 24's sound more sturdy whereas 21's sound like you are closing a tin can, and zero window rattle

oh now thats cool... i didnt even notice on the way home, but i think 98% of our route was lit.

If i get time, i guess i will find a diagram of the doors and start comparing seals and whatnot.

Lots of people with 24's have already mentioned that their windows are no better than older models. So even if something has changed, it's not guaranteed to fix anything. Some are just not as bad as others.

My early '22 has the slow fading high/low beams already. It was a thing in the Lux trim. I can be turned in and off in forscan on mine

When was yours built? Mine was 1/11/22 and it didn’t have the fading. So they must’ve changed it soon after that.

I had a '21 and now a '23. I also noticed significant differences with the doors. They don't feel as cheap, and I agree with the other seals comments. It rattles far less and just overall feels more solid. The windows however are just as wobbly as they've always been. Can't leave em half open

I don’t like to run with the windows half open on my 23 so I’m thinking nothing has changed.
