I obviously missed something but can someone tell me about the door with the low viewing window?

That cut-out looks cool but I do not understand its purpose or why anyone would want it.

As far as I know, there's no additional info on those yet. They're assumed to be an OEM "tube doors" without windows, but beyond that it's all speculation.

I like it myself but can't find it in any of the "options" listings....

They are a potential accessory available (potentially) through dealers. Not available as a factory option.

Jeep had shown off something similar a while back for the JL announcement and Besttop ended up manufacturing some. It's just a way to get the open air feeling with half doors that are more open than usual but not as small as tube doors.

It would be really cool if they were an option! Maybe just have fixed glass in the opening? Not to bring up a wildly different car, but the Mclaren Senna has a similar design with fixed glass.

The hole makes it easier to see out/down without poking your head out the window if you are trying to keep your body work off a giant rock, and helps see out the passenger door for the same reason. Having a hole opposed to no door lets you ford deeper water without taking a bath...

The cutout doors will be in the factory accessory catalog at at launch.
