I got to demo my dealer Wildtrak yesterday and today just a bit over 24 hours.
I took it to work and all the guys really liked it and were very impressed, although most didn't like the Cyber Orange and asked me if mine was ordered in same color. No its not its a Lighting Blue FE.
I was able to do a quick in the hanger photoshoot with my other Bronco which I wish I could say was mine but happy enough to be the crewcheif and head mechanic. I'm very lucky enough to get to restore these vintage warbirds. Its called the OV-10 Bronco and they have lots of heritage connections to the Ford version as they first flew in 1965 and the ones in photo were built in 1968. So far my company has restored 2 OV-10 Broncos and we are working on number 3 of a total of 7 aircraft. Great job for sure and they have a significant connection for me as I first worked on them in the early 90's in the Marine Corps, went to Desert Storm too and saw them sadly retired to the boneyard in 1993 and 1994.

It was a bit tight getting the 4 wheeler in but with all the camera's and Birdseye view made it actually pretty easy. So I'm supper impressed with all the new tech that Ford has put into these vehicles.

My son and I took her off top off, well down more like it which was pretty easy. We went off road and got to play with the GOAT modes which is so slick how you can do that while on the go. I'm so used to having to stop to change any 4 wheel mode.

Got home and took my wife on a hundred mile round trip to Orange County during late evening so it was nice and cool and it was pretty spectacular with the top down. She mention how incredibly easy it was to go top up to down, I already had window out from earlier. Got a bit chilly so on or way back home put top up and turned up the heater. Funny since in the heat of the day it was 97 degrees.

I do have to say though with top up and windows out on the freeway it can be really loud especially when semi trucks go by you. When the top is down the sound is channeled away or absorbed with all fabric all scrunched down in back.

The best part was my wide was very impressed and is looking forward to when ours gets built. I hope that will be in October or November. At least the good thing living in Southern California we have great weather nearly all year and won't be so hot that having the hardtop off should be great fun. Hope you all enjoy my review with a twist and something a bit more positive then most of our current news.

Now Ford please! just make your goals on time for the MIC top, and get everyone's Bad Batch delivered and get my First Edition built!

No it is not but does look similar because of the 2 boom design. Bat21 used the Airforce O-2 Skymaster which is half the size of the OV-10

Ugh, my dealer still wants $99/night + tax with a 4 night minimum to "test drive" their demo. I'm really considering calling Ford tomorrow and seeing if I can still switch dealers. It's not like they're fulfilling my order soon anyway.

Yeah that's seem very odd. Seems like they are acting like it's a rental. My dealer filled out a loaner form and got my insurance and DL and they even gassed it up.

That's exactly what they're doing. We were there the day it came on the lot because we were promised a test drive. GM said no. Now they're claiming it went straight in to their loaner program and no one with a reservation was ever allowed to drive it. It's nuts.

Sweet, haven't seen an OV-1 Bronco since I left Manassas Airport (KHEF). They had 2 stuffed in a hanger and every once in a while I'd get called out to fuel them, flown by a government agency.
Not sure if they're still out there, might be something for you guys to research if you're looking for more airframes or parts?
Never flew a Bronco but I have flown a skymaster. Now I just fly a boring Airbus 320 which you don't really fly, you just offer a suggestion to the flight computer and go from there!!!!

They would have matched if the Bronco was Cactus Gray.

Very cool aircraft!

Very nice. You are living the dream, 2 Broncos so to say. Thanks for sharing I'm impressed with all you do to restore old war birds. I'm an Army Vet and my hats off to you for help keeping some of the unknown military history alive.

From an early age, I always liked the OV-10 Bronco. I remember building a model of it when I was 12 or so. I'm not sure why I liked it so much, it was either its versatility for all types of missions or its awkward but lovable looks. Glad to hear they are still flying!
