Anyone else find themselves using the dreaded Eco goat mode now with the way gas prices are? If so, have you seen a significant improvement in MPG?

Just wondering, I've just started switching to Eco and waiting to see the results.

I don't know about dreaded, but I put it in Eco every time I remember. It's still absolutely annoying that it doesn't just pick the last mode by default without having to catch a prompt that disappears almost immediately.

I prefer the slower profile of Eco, fits the way I drive anyway.

I have put mine in the “ don’t drive it mode”. Kidding aside, being retired and having multiple vehicles allows me to enjoy the Bronco at my whim and I am not constantly filling it up. I consider myself extremely fortunate.

150 mile round trip to the mountain house in Normal, 18.9 MPG. In ECO, 19.0 MPG from the display. Sport is next.

Few months ago I did an experiment. Full tank normal, full tank eco, then full tank normal with auto stop on and full tank eco auto stop on.

Normal mode no ass, averaged about 21 mpg
Eco no ass made it up to about 23
Normal ass about 22.5
Eco mode with ass I'm averaging between 24.5 to 25.5.

The thing with eco mode is it totally sucks the fun out of driving, you need drive different in it, and stay out of boost. Using eco mode, ass and cruise control whenever possible gets best mileage, but you do have to put a little effort in. Accelerate slowly, don't speed and use cruise control and coast as much as possible.

Yea that is why I dont use ECO much, gearing is so much different than normal so I cannot vroom vroom like I wanna lol. On road trips I def use it but not worth for city driving IMO

I use it wether it’s me driving more gently when I use it 🤷‍♂️ But I seem to pick up 1mpg. I just wish the damn thing would stay in what mode I left it in.(I know there a thread in that already)

I would think eco mode would make the most difference in city driving, with not much difference to see in steady state highway cruising.

If FORScan can enable modes, Im pawsitive it can disable them

Look for Eco to be gone, so I can roll right into Sport

I have no idea what “eco” mode even does so I don’t bother checking it.

I never had access to free gas, so I just drive like I always did.
