Drove my First Bronco - Ordering one on 10/13

Hey Folks,
Sharing that I finally got to drive a Bronco for the first time on Friday. Also very excited for next weekend because the dealership is going to allow me to take this one home for the weekend (next week) to give it a more thorough test. Said I could pick it up on Friday and return it on the following Monday!

I was impressed with this Outer Banks model but my order will be for a manual transmission Badlands. This color combo and wheels also looked real sharp.

This one had aftermarket 35” tires and my experience with it was that I now (and this is just me) I am no longer leaning towards Sasquatch. I love the look but these Mickey Thompson tires seemed to drive a little clumsily. For me I’m now leaning towards the smaller tire configuration. Also looking at the MPG on it with those tires it was just a hair over 15-MPG. Not too big a deal and not why I am buying a Bronco but something I think of.

Otherwise I was very happy with the build and comfort of the Bronco. Replacing my 2020 Gladiator….the ride quality of the Bronco is waaaay better.

It drove clumsily because those MT tires are definitely not a good road tire. I would not judge Sasquatch based on that alone. The factory squatch tires are actually really nice on the street.

Yes, I am a “late orderer”. Pretty aware too of the delays, backlog, and challenges many of you have experienced. I am prepared to test my patience.

On the other response… good to hear that my driving experience with the Mickey Thompson’s may not be reflective of Sasquatch. That’s good to hear. Thanks.

Don't let that one ruin your opinion of the sasquatch, those are aftermarket wheels and tires on a non-sas Bronco. The real sasquatch actually rides quite nicely. They also probably didnt re gear it, which will effect the way it accelerates and effect the mpg.

This is hilarious to me. The dealer modifies it to look cool and essentially causes a customer to want to downgrade their purchase. The Sasquatch actually rides much nicer than the non Sasquatch Broncos I have driven. The dealers should stick to selling and let the Ford engineers do the part speccing.

Good points and you are right that they did not re-gear it. I am warming again to Sasquatch .

Ok... the dealer said this weekend I could borrow the Bronco and that has come to happen. Very generous of them... I have it through noon on Monday.

I look forward to getting to know this one and getting a better feel for what I'm getting myself into. This demo vehicle was made on 6/21/21 and I've included a photo of the window sticker. Hard to read with the tint but you can hopefully get an idea of what it has.

It has also been outfitted with a lockable drawer in the back and a foldable table mounted to the rear access door (this table rattles at 65MPH and is a little annoying - pretty sure it can be addressed though with some adjustment).
