Dual Compressor Install Location "Options" ?

Hey,

It seems the primary mounting location is on the passenger side engine bay. For me, I'm thinking on going another route...

What "OTHER" locations seemed to work for you? How did you deal with the heat issue and / or protect it from the elements (Dirt, salts, Mud, rocks)?

* Under the vehicle?
* Cargo area?
* Installed under a seat or panel?

Glove box, on top of the roof, inside the fuel tank, so many options when you think outside the box!

If you don't have the LUX, you could look at the space the sub-woofer would occupy in the rear cargo.

The sub-floor cubby in the cargo seems to be too small for a dual compressor.

@UtahBrandon might have a solution for you if you have a 4-dr. He had a bracket designed to be mounted to the rear rollbar. If that original bracket can't be sourced, then perhaps his Attic Storage Shelf might serve as a mount for the dual compressor.

I'm of the mind to keep the compressor out of the elements. I'm not a fan of the rear spare tire mount. Locating it under the chassis is also a non-starter. While the engine bay is still dusty, it provides protection from mud and salt while also shielding the passengers from noise and heat.

So our KR Off-Road engine mount is the most popular. It's just easy and keeps it out of the way. It's also super easy to wire since your battery and upfitter wires are right there.

Another place i've seen people install them is the cargo spot in the rear. However only a single compressor seems to fit in here. The dual compressor doesn't quite fit. You'd have to run a harness up to the battery (10 guage for a single or dual 10 gauges for a twin) plus your upfitter control wire (might as well since you're running wires anyway).

You can also install it under your seat as well. The wire run won't be as far when you do this but it'll be inside your truck now.

I am looking for a place in the engine or maybe in rear cargo area (where sub woofer would be) for a Dual Compressor installed

I have a Everglade so the snorkel is where the normal engine mount would be

I have seen this for a single and seen where a single would fit in cargo cubby in back. But would like to do a dual if possible

There's only so many places to install one. I used the KR Off-Road brackets from 4x4 LED's. Below is my setup. I wanted the on/off switch next to compressor.

Yup, each trim and engine seems to be a bit different. I have the 4 cylinder badlands. Would love to be able to move winch controller to engine compartment, but no room. :-(

The only words of wisdom I can offer is to think thru how you’ll use the compressor, location of on/off switch and what you plan to connect to it.
