I would love a hybrid to help out with the gas mileage situation and the sad range provided by the tiny gas tank. I don't think we're quite there yet as far as infrastructure goes for full electric. I'm curious, does a hybrid still run if the electric motor dies completely just on the combustion engine? I've never owned one and most of the people I know with hybrids have never had any serious problems.

It was -17 on my commute to work today, I work a 12 hour shift and all employees cars are outside for that time, NO HOOKUPS. I'm curious to know someone who has had real world experience, how many miles could I drive in these conditions? Same for -30?

Once technology produces a battery that will go 500 miles and charge in less than 10 minutes, the ICE is toast.

My son said it best "If It doesn't have the gas engine sound...no thanks dad" :) Raised him right.

Hybrids are stupid. Pick Fuel or battery. Not both. Plus hybrids need replacing within 10 years or less (battery packs on fully electric probably will as well $$$).

HOWEVER. If it an e-bronco did 0-60 in 3 flat with 15K pounds of torque, could travel 1K miles on a single charge in sport mode, convert it to a generator for camping an entire weekend, recharge from a home power outlet in 1 hour, and back up solar chargers if on the trail built into the roof and body panels without looking like crap (takes longer to charge) PLEASE TAKE MY MONEY!!

Ford can’t even make minor adjustments to their 2.7L engine for Bronco without having them explode on people driving down the highway, so hell no I will not be trusting them with this science experiment.
