Truth. I have been on Eco the past week (for shits a giggles to see) and have actually been getting worse MPG. 🤷‍♂️
YES!!! When it 1st arrived; I tried ECO for a week or two and gave up... No change with multiple tanks and my range still doesn't brake the 300 mile mark per tank. I find with my MPG but want my range to be closer to 400 miles...

Waiting for auxiliary tank or a larger main tank replacement to come out... 🙏 🙏

Yes, I am well aware of that. Try it (eco mode), you'll see what I mean.
I have, I honestly didn't find it made any difference other than to make the vehicle seem gutless... Making me need to put the gas pedal to the floor to get the thing to move seems counter-productive when trying to save fuel

Is this where manual transmission drivers come to say they don't know where any of those buttons are? ;)

I'm not experiencing what most of you are...I've got a 2 door manual so that is part of it...
I'm getting above average mpg on most tanks of gas - only my long highway trips causes me to come back to reality. See what I've got here nearly a tank in. It will tail off as I approach a fill up but I rarely get under 23 mpg.

I have no problem accelerating when needed but my driving style is pretty easy going so that is a big part of it...

I can't fathom getting less than 350 miles per tank with a premium fill but I guess I've spoiled myself with my smaller cars - my other one now is a '22 Miata and that is averaging 37mpg.

Ford Bronco ECO mode is awesome! 20230106_084059

I'm not a fan of goat modes to start with, but I'm glad the Braptor doesn't do eco, it's a waste of goat space.....lol...

I think those of you that get worse mileage with ECO are laying into the pedal more because of the less lively map that ECO is. It feels a little more sluggish so you’re stepping on it more.
Eco gets the worst gas mileage because it shifts faster, so you use more boost to accelerate.
Sport gets the best MPG because it hold gears longer, so you use lee boost to accelerate.

In an auto-majic transmission. On a stick shift, the modes don't do anything for MPG since you are shifting yourself.

This has made the most sense in this whole thread...

I have more torque in my legs than eco mode does.

Higher RPM’s require more fuel. And so does more boost.
we can agree to disagree.
But you kind of proved my point in a round-a-bout way.

Eco mode is dumb and useless.

Here's how mileage works folks....any engine always is the most fuel-efficient at its torque peak. Because that is where it is making the most power per/gallon. On the 2.7 the torque peak is at a much higher rpms than the eco mode shifts at....therefore it sucks. On the other hand, sport mode actually shifts closer to the rpms that has maximum peak torque, so it's the obvious winner. This ain't rocket science and has been proven years back. Even though the engine may be.spinning more rpms, the fuel required per revolution. Is far less than the slower "lugging" scenario eco mode provides. Plus the turbochargers are not as efficient at lower rpms. So there are parasitic losses involved from turbos spinning at less than optimal speeds in eco mode.

I have noticed zero difference between the modes. Just seems like a marketing gimmick.

This is totally opposite what I have experienced!
