When you look at it in this context, it sounds more like they have a place-holder for MY22s in order to document whatever minor changes it will have from 21s. Notice "Part of the sixth Bronco generation, revived for 2021" (emphasis added).

Couldn’t agree more. Most auto makers do model changes in July of the previous year. Paying sticker for a vehicle that will be one model year old doesn’t sit well with me. I wish they’d push them all to 2022.

Who cares. People are just misinformed. 90% of the country out of 'the know' think the Bronco is the Bronco Sport they are seeing on the road. Nothing to read into.
To be fair manufactures can list anything within one calendar year as the next. So they can actually list any 21 as a 22.
Since they are so constrained and producing so little in 21 I'd much prefer them list anything that isn't a FE/Priority as 22 anyways, only helps the buyer.
