Ew no. This looks like something that the terminator would drive across Mars right before he rips out your spine or something. Hard pass from me.

Yeah, if they could somehow make it go SIDEWAYS, that'd be one thing, but a diagonal doesn't seem like it'd necessarily help much.

I heard the new Hummer will be directly targeting Bronco buyers. They'll be offering only Navy Pier interiors in all their First Editions. Also the original First Editions were only 3500 units, but staying consistent with Ford they doubled the number to 7000.

So, after GM blew it with the new Blazer, there were rumors of a reborn GMC Jimmy as a Wrangler fighter built off of the Colorado chassis. That news sort of disappeared and then GM teased the return of HUMMER as a GMC vehicle/sub-brand. Iā€˜m not convinced that GM ever had a Jimmy rebirth in mind. For one, they never filed for a trademark of the name (which they did for HUMMER). So now that we know HUMMER is coming back as an electric SUT, how will GM screw it up... position this vehicle? Will it be a midsize competitor, a full-size monster, or something else entirely?

Iā€™m not sure GM screwed itā€™s up... they basically made an electric Escalade w/this Hummer.

this vehicle is not a competitor for the Bronco (right now), but it is for the Cyber Truck and as a competitor against the Cyber Truck, the EV Hummer wins.

If they sell 7000 that would be $788,000,000 in revenue. Wow, that number is staggering.

Because "FUUUUUTURE"

I saw their top down "demo" (CGI) in the reveal video, and it sure looked like they could've just turned the wheel right and back left and gotten around that obstacle lol.

I would assume trail turn can be used from a stop too, no? (I don't know I'm legitimately asking).

It can be but it still locks whichever rear wheel so that you're dragging shortening the turn. Like I said, I've driven neither and have never needed either but imo I think the crab crawl is pretty neat to reposition the whole vehicle vice just dragging. I'm not an offroader so I don't know if either works or what situation you'd really use them.

I remember Silverados offering 4-wheel steering. It was cool but expensive as hell when it breaks.

Totally agree... If Hummer had modified their H3 Adventure package and rolled these EV features into it, add 35s standard it would be a serious off roader. Better yet make it a Hybrid.

PS: Anyone know the length of the new Hummer EV compared to the new Bronco

per autoblog... itā€™s basically a turtle

One of the most prodigious numbers is the truck's width. See those clearance marker lights on the roof? They aren't just there for style, they're required by law due its width. At 86.7 inches, it's just a bit wider than a Ford F-150 Raptor, which is itself 6.4 inches wider than a comparable F-150. The Hummer is also 5.5 inches wider than a GMC Sierra.
Length is more reasonable at 216.8 inches, which is much less than a full-size crew cab pickup (a Sierra 1500 is 231.7 inches with its 5-foot-8-inch box or 241.2 with the 6-foot-6 one). It's even 3 inches less than the Raptor SuperCab and only 4.4 inches longer than a GMC Canyon with the standard 5-foot-2-inch box. In other words, the Hummer EV is roughly as long as a midsize pickup but is wider than a heavy-duty one.
