ELI5 - how do hoists work?

Explain like I’m five years old, preferably with pictures: how do these hoists work? I get that they’re motorized winch and pulley systems attached to the ceiling, but how do they securely hold the top? Does the hard top have bolt holes or eyelets on the underside? Do you have to add eyehooks to the top? The Googles, they do nuthink.

I’ve looked at Google images and several videos, but none of them seem to zero in on how it attaches to the top itself, or they’re super blurry, which is why I’m asking.

AirPort F/D's usually loans sky hooks out to firefighters for free.
