Maybe you could get a tarp made like the bimini top and have it in the truck and when it rains you could quickly install it.

It's called the canvas Bimini and I bought mine. No pictures were on the accessory sight when I ordered and it is still.in it's box but even if it had to be wax impregnated like a cowboy's rain parka so be it, but it is NOT mesh. At very least should collect water in the low spot

You have roof rack clips on the sides and accessory ready mounting points on the upper windshield - something could be designed like a roll up shade. You aren't looking for driving in the rain every day water tight, just an emergency option for that unexpected shower. Someone could probably do it.

Like I said, mine still in box, but I imagine same construction as the ridiculous tonneau cover that has to be unstrapped to open tailgate (plus rub paint off gate)
On the Ford website, it looks more like a shade cover and is not made to keep rain out. The jeep tops curl around the roll bars forcing the water out. The ford one looks like there is a gap between it and the roll bar. Keep us posted on what it looks like installed.

The Bimini cover does not appear like it would keep water out given the gap along the top of the front windshield. It seems like there would be an opportunity (maybe jeep already has it) to make something that you could throw on, keep water out and still drive with. Doesn't have to be perfect, but would be extremely useful to those with hard tops year round.

Why not just put the roof panels into their bags and put them in the trunk?

A soft top is not going to protect the Bronco when the doors are off. I have a soft top and i'm thinking of getting the Broncover so i can leave the top and doors off during the entire Florida winter.

I really like the 2 door cover from Ford accessories. Will it also cover it with the top on?

I have a similar cover for my 97 TJ and I cover it (with the top on) in the scorching FL hot sun to keep the top and interior preserved. I am on my second cover in 4 years as the sun burned through the first one. The covers works great, keeps the interior dark and cool. It still has the original soft top and it's still in pretty good shape.

I really like that the Bronco cover is white too. I ordered a white color Basesquatch to reflect the hot scorching FL sun. The MIC tpo being very dark in color I was worried about it fading very fast.

Also known as a Safari Top, this keeps the sun and (most) rain off in a pinch:

Someone will most certainly make this style, probably a couple vendors.

Yeah I bought the stupid tonneau cover not realizing how it .ousted by the tailgate. What a ridiculous design.
Any thoughts on what would happen if the straps over the tailgate were cut off? Do you think you could modify it to still work and not need those straps? I'm not finding many images online of this part to see what the possible options could be.

Thanks for the info. A couple of questions…1) Do the sides tie down even with the doors off? 2) Is there a discount for Forum members for the pre-order?

Thanks!
Yep, designed to work with or without doors on.
“6GFORUM” will save you a little money.
These are made right here in Columbia by the way, go Cocks.
