I have some Ego yard tools and have been thinking of picking up their portable power station thing that you can slide a battery into should provide power on camping trips. It is on the spendy side so might look for other options but would want something.

1st aid kit should be in every car along with jumper cables. 2 summers ago I actually need them as a motorcycle officer was stuck at the pump next to me. Saved him some hassle and time to just pass him the cables and turn my car around to let him hookup.

In college (early 2000's) we ebay'd some used tug boat/boat doc straps and used them as tow straps. Very cheap and effective option to have along with the std yellow tows (several of both and different lenghts are ideal) will put both in a bag along with gloves and a blanket or just bungee the blanket around the stuff to have a bungee as well.

a come along also...of course the high lift..or carry something to allow a tire/wheel removal.

Planning on the following...

Goosegear fridge and stove slide out
Go Fast Camper roof top tent with rack, lights, etc
Onboard air compressor (probably dual ARB, makes it easier to blow up paddle boards)
Winch (probably factory option)
Recovery gear, tools, traction boards, ARB jack
Overland solar panel on roof top tent
Dual battery set up
Off road lights (might go with factory options)

That will get me started.

A couple rolls of toilet paper because every time I go wheeling I've done stupid $#!t and usually someone with me needs it if not myself.

My typical kit over the years has fluxed with the size of vehicle and terrain.
  • 50-foot tow strap
  • Assorted shackles
  • Hi-lift, typically a 48”
  • Tool set. Basic metric and standard sockets and wrenches, Allen wrenches metric and standard, electrical tools.
  • Tire plug kit
  • Jumper cables
  • Zip ties
  • Duct tape
We’ll see on spares but I’ve carried spare u-joints, driveshafts, starters, steering boxes, tie rod ends etc. There won’t be much in the junk yards or Craigslist to scavenge for spares.

Gotta have the longer high lift jack. Some of them boys on 39’s have a lot of articulation and a short one just won’t work. Glad i had one.

Lol I saw that too and thought the same.
It’s such a great winch and by far best bang for the buck. And for what the warranty costs, if it fails they will replace it no questions asked.
Plus the 20% coupon harbor freight always has works on it

For every day use, in the first week I'll have a decent set of tools, ratchet straps, zip ties, several knives, couple of flashlights, rubber gloves, leather gloves. shovel, electric tape, parachute cord, limb saw, axe, 6 inch piece of RR tie, rain jacket, tow strap, jumper cables, carmex.

There's no telling what will be in there 6 months down the road.

Definitely will be adding one of these. Currently running a handheld, works pretty good, want to add a more powerful base unit for more power and better range. My handheld puts out 5 watts, while the 2 I’m looking at put out 15 and 40 respectively.

I am a ham and so I put a rig in all my vehicles :) but I started seeing more people use these and have been thinking about adding this as well. I have several GMRS handhelds but this would have better range.

Hi Lift Jack with off road base, traction board, big lug wrench, and snatch strap. I’m not sure how to carry the Hi lift on this though...I put it on the roof rack of the FJ, but I’m not going to put a roof rack on the Bronco I don’t think.
