So i woke up early and just couldn't sleep. Guess i had extra time (lots of it, hahaha) on my hand so, I decided to compare the prices in B&P US and Canada... I felt like something was off because as soon as you add the Sasquatch package, it comes close or higher to a WT trim... Think they really want us to buy WT in Canada??? Or we just like being screwed? maybe a bit of both.

- I took the base model Wt for comparison with same built for the others.
- Please note that my prices include the 2k destination fee. For US, the closest city is Montpellier, VT. So, destination is included at 1500.
- Difference is in + or -.
**Exchange rate ain't that bad to justify all of it!**

US 2 doors // 4Doors
WT 48475 // 50970
BB Sas -3620 // -2925
BD Sas -2250 // - 1555
OBX Sas -340 // + 355
BL Non Sas -1495 / Sas +1000 (bit normal) // Non Sas -800 / Sas +1695

Canada 2 doors // 4 doors
WT 58494 // 61994
BB Sas -1000 // -205
BD Sas +1250 // +2045
OBX Sas +500 // +1295
BL Non Sas +250 / Sas + 4750 (WTF!!) // Non Sas +1045 / Sas +5545 (WTF Again!)

I am still getting a bronco.. just harder to swallow.

Its more about the différences between the trims and WT... We pay more (often) if we Sasquatch it than us.. specially for the BL

It’s the same for all auto makers shipping to other countries.
Japanese car are cheaper in Japan, German cars are cheaper in Germany. Canadian bacon is cheaper in Canada. You get the picture.

Not exactly. That's not the only reasoning for pricing. You know we build American vehicles here, right? You don't pay more for those just because they're built up here.

No because they’re US auto makers cars you’re building. Canada pays money to have them built in Canada, same for Mexico and other places that build US cars. Then There’s no need to make them more expensive. Canada pays for the extra cost to import and export them from Canada. It’s all part of trade deals countries have with other countries.

Long story short, if Canada had their own major auto maker then those cars would be more expensive in the US whether they were built in the US or Canada.

This I agree with. Import, export, and trade deals. I just assumed (perhaps wrongly) that when you mentioned "shipping" you were speaking more to the actual distance. Our plants are mostly 4-5hours from Detroit. That particular cost would be negligible.

These damn global economics.

Also, Canadian bacon sucks. Y'all can have it if you want it.

This made me laugh, and for the record, I like Canadian Bacon, unlike some others up in here... Not Taylors Pork Roll, but I like it...

Going on a tangent here but that’s not at all true. Cars are generally cheapest in the States. If you equip two identical BMWs, it will be about 25 to 35% less in the U.S. than in Germany, even if that car is being imported from Germany. A German built Audi RS6 costs around $109k in the States and $139k in Germany, and that doesn’t even take into account that the American model has more standard features.

Reasons are numerous but include less sales taxes, less regulation, cheaper transportation, less import tariffs and greater economies of scale. We pay less for Land Rovers than Brits do, less for a Supra than somebody in Japan, etc.
