I'm eating this stuff up! I don't know if I'll go snorkel or not but hot-damn I love when people raid an OEM's parts bin, OEM+ is and will always be cool

Howdy, friends. I'm working towards adding an Everglades snorkel to my Badlands. It might not work out, but I'm gonna give it a shot and see how far it gets. Here are some photos of the parts that arrived today. I'm in the process of identifying what I'm missing, so I'll be ordering a couple more bits and bobs. Majority is here though, I think. There will be a couple things to relocate including the windshield washer fluid reservoir and a wiring harness or two.

There's an unpleasant couple marks here on the inside of the main external snorkel piece where the bend occurs. I'm not sure how problematic this is.

Note that in the photo where it's shown "on" the vehicle, it's merely propped there for funzies.

Laying the pieces into the engine bay to get a look at what will need to be moved. I really like the airbox cover. Seems like a good design.

Parts diagram from Ford Parts site. I'm missing 9E691 and 9B609A, I believe. Going to place an order for those. I thiiiink I have everything else? 🤞

Here are the part numbers that Ford Parts gave to me and I ordered:
Inlet hose -- NB3Z-9A698-B
Tube -- NB3Z-9C675-B & NB3Z-9C675-A
Cover -- NB3Z-9661-C
Gasket -- NB3Z-9654-A
Bracket -- NB3Z-9B609-B
Hardware -- W721177-S450B, W722303-S450B, W505494-S442, W721933-S450B

Note that the diagram and these part numbers I was given don't perfectly line up. 🤷‍♂️ We'll see how that works out.

April 1, 2023 Update
I swapped the air box lids, relocated the driveline control module grounding wire, temporarily removed the washer fluid reservoir inlet pipe, and shoved a wiring harness out of the way to see how things are going to fit. Getting close but I couldn't quite get the snorkel tube end flush against the fender. Might not need much else to make it happen, but I'm not gonna call it a win just yet. Feeling good though. 😊

April 6, 2023 Update
The cover and bracket pieces I ordered (NB3Z-9B697-A and NB3Z-9B609-A respectively) have arrived! Looks like the bracket that mounts to the A pillar does so just with a sticky pad rather than drilling, which is great. I wasn't looking forward to potentially goofing up my A pillar. Here's a couple pics showing the fronts and backs of the two pieces.

April 20, 2023 Update
Thanks to several very helpful B6G members, I've got some more parts information:
  • N2DZ-17618-A is the washer fluid reservoir
  • NB3Z-7D438-A is the bracket to which that reservoir and the DCM mount
Both of those are pretty pricey, and I'm curious if I can get by without them. I'm going to hold off on ordering them until I am sure they'll be needed.
  • CJ5Z-9U465-A is listed as "Valve Seal. Turbocharger Boost Pressure Relief Valve."
This one I did go ahead and order. It has been reported that these are swapped in as part of the Everglades upfitting in the factory. I'm yet unclear on its need, but that'll probably be apparent next week.

Work in progress
Trying to determine part numbers for the Everglades' washer fluid reservoir and the bracket to which it and the drive line control module mount.
Awaiting April 24th shop appointment for an install attempt.

To do
Plan out raising the breather lines.

Have a lovely day,
🐼
They look cool but. my only problem with them is they will not allow the bronco to drive into deeper water than the stock uints. they do however work well in dusty trails when following other vehicles

Not going to argue with you there!
Unfortunately even as far in as we are with the Bronco some things that you only need one part at a time can only be purchased as a whole group (steel bash plates), and others (Modular Bumper, Roof Rack) are bought piece by piece which is super expensive! Just stuff I've run accross.
I know, something that should cost about 500 will end up being 1200 when it’s said and done.. but it’s cool though

Hope y'all are as helpful when I install the OEM sway bar-disconnect on my Everglades. LOL! I'm joking, ... I think. :p Good luck on Monday, @pandapaul

Anyone try installing these fenders in a standard bronco?
Not that I am aware of. Not even sure they are available at the parts counter yet. But there is no reason the fenders and flares shouldn't fit a non-EG or non-HE Bronco

Ok gotcha. That makes sense. I talked with my local parts dude, and he was able to see the same things you described. Sounds like both of them are fairly pricey, so I'm going to see if I can get by without them. Fantastic to know I've finally got those part numbers on hand though. Thank you VERY much for your help.
A job worth doing is worth doing well…. Don’t cut corners trying to save a buck, it might bite you in the ass in the end. As for the fender, the shape is the same up to the body crease, the squared wheel arches will most likely change the radius of the fender in regards to the reveal around the wheel arch opening. I have an Everglades currently so hopefully you’ll be able to get the breather tube to mount flush to the inside of the fender. Both the 2.7 and 2.3L engines take the same air filter and my original and soon to be new Bronco were both Wildtracks, so hopefully the filter housing tubing will work without any issue. Things will get costly if you can’t get a good seal, and knowing Ford your factory fender will be back ordered with no ETA. Raiding the OEM parts bin to modify your vehicle is always exciting, never know what you’ll be able to make work. Have fun!

Usually i would agree but in the case of the relocation bracket and washer fluid reservoir I'm gonna wait until I know I need them. Easy enough to overnight them if necessary, and Ford's pricing on that is surprisingly cheap.

Very cool thread to follow! Not a project I'm interested in tackling but cool to see a member doing it and so many fellow members pitching in to make it happen. Great community!

You're seriously going to cut your fender to install that plasticky thing? The one that offers no functionality 99.9% of the time and unless you're fording a river, at which point you'll need to worry about the alternator more than anything else?

REALLY?

Edit: You get the added bonus of unnecessary wind noise, too! Yay.

LOL, coming from someone who has a profile pic showing the forward top panels removed underneath a rooftop tent...I am concerned about your understanding of functionality.

It's been reported by a few members that splashes come close to, if not enter, the intake without coming near the advertised fording depth.

I hate majority arguments.
e.g., why did you get a 4x4 with huge tires when you don't need that 99% of the time?

Fenders are easily replaceable on the Bronco. You can reverse this anytime you want.

I wouldn't trust this snorkel (or any) for driving under water. They are (usually) not meant to be submerged.

anyway, we all have bad days, guessing yesterday was one for you. 🍻
I hope today is enjoyable for all.

Judge not. Function, like beauty, is in the eye of the beholder. He’s already spent over a grand on parts so I’d say the answer to your question should be obvious: “YES”. He is serious. And every bit as committed to his idea of form and function as you are to yours.

One might argue even more so given the amount of work he’s already put into it.

I applaud his efforts. I enjoy modifying my vehicles to make them unique. And nothing is more unique than stepping outside that “buy shit on Amazon and bolt it on” box like this. This is closer to true customization.

Ford Bronco Everglades Snorkel Installed on 2.7L Badlands Bronco [Update: Completed + Water Flow Test Video] 1682363311738

I'm curious about the connection/seal between this outside cover piece and the snorkel by the fender there. That cover just pops on there, and that has me wondering if the Everglades uses anything (maybe some RTV silicone or something) to waterproof that gap.
