There has been a LOT of griping on these digital pages regarding "botched" product launch by Ford for Bronco. And certainly some things could have been smoother. However, having to re-invent your entire launch strategy on the fly, while complying with the ever-changing state regulations across the nation as your events keep having the proverbial monkey wrench thrown in the works, has proven exceedingly difficult.

As a small business owner who deals with federal deadlines it's been an unmitigated disaster to service our clients with the entire business landscape thrown into chaos as the business model has been forced to change with zero notice.

I give Ford a LOT of credit for how many successful events they have had and how hard they have been working to keep up momentum for the product launch while there must be thousands of parts supply, labor, administrative and human uncertainty surrounding every aspect of their business.

One of the most plagued product launches of all time has been the "2019" C8 Corvette. Here's an example of what they are now facing as production gets paused and likely those who had money down will get their "2019" car sometime in 2021.

GM Runs Out of Corvette Parts, Production Paused

So a reminder to all, there will be parts shortages during Bronco build, there will be delays for some model/trim/equipment, and it will be out of their hands to control. Had this been a normal year for the human population on Earth, these issues would not have happened. But it hasn't been a normal year and there will be production issues. Please have some patience*.

*This post made knowing full-well that the forum will turn into an S-show once people's builds are delayed or 100,000 Broncos don't reach customers by the first month the factory is running....

Wow, that would certainly be frustrating.

Overall, good post.

Most folks have simply no idea how complicated building modern cars truly is. Between the complexity of design, the staggering array of build variations there are, the number of statutory and regulatory safety issues, different levels of laws at different levels of government, etc., it can be an absolute nightmare. Its not at all like building one simple product day in and day out. The fact that they (OEMs in general) do it as well as they do is pretty amazing.

Building cars isn't rocket science. Its harder (just ask Elon!)...

I can't believe the amount of complaining around here. Ford could have just kept everything to themselves until there were transporters full of broncos heading to dealers. You could stroll down to your local dealer and pick up something that wasn't really what you wanted at only 10k over msrp. Instead they have tried to let us in on the process, and have probably even made some changes based on input. In thanks they get crucified that everything isn't known and available and perfect and manual v8 with white roof wash out floors with king ranch leather in lime green. Especially considering the vehicle won't be delivered for almost 12 months...

I get the factory delays. We should have switched to robots decades ago...looking at you UAW.

I just want the Build and Price, that can be programmed from mothers' basements around the globe, to play with for the entire year I'll be waiting for my Bronco.

*don't read this. I said don't read this. You're doing it again.

The vast majority of people don't understand how difficult it is to build/make most things they take for granted in this day and age.

True enough. What's more is that a lot of people don't have any comprehension of how long it takes to develop a product and put into production, much less one as complicated an automobile. Most people don't particularly care about any of that as long as Prime delivers it tomorrow.
