So the directions on step 2 say to give the mirror glass a firm tug to remove it. How exactly is it mounted in there (adhesive?) and is there a chance of breaking it on this step? With that said, how exactly does it re-install?

Same as most mirror glass, its a clip mechanism. You pop it out (clips release) then it pops back in (clips re-engage).

We include a 2-pin connector with a whip that has open positive & negative wires to be connected to the open AUX switch wires in the engine compartment.

Nice, this looks way easier than I was thinking it would be.
An alternative to fishing tape for threading that wire through the weather stripping is to blow it through with an air chuck, sometimes just a little burst is all it takes to send the wire out the other side.

Yes, will have a separate video demonstrating this but the camera and turn signal stay on the mirror assembly when you remove the housing, there are no additional steps there. The courtesy light simply clips into the new housing, so its an easy swap-over.
