Do tell?

Where’s the best place to get cheap ranger tie rods.
Rockauto, ebay, Amazon all have cheap ones. I don't see a reason to buy the expensive name brand ones for an emergency spare.

So are the inners easier to change than the outters? I haven't looked that close, but I know the outers have a tie rod end that seems like it might be tough to break loose whereas the enters are just threaded on both sides?

They're both super easy. I think it was barely 5 minutes to get both off.

Anyone have a good video how to change out an inner with tools you would have out on the trail? I’ve already purchased a couple of Ranger tie rods from Rock Auto, so I just want to make sure I have everything else I need.

I may be lazy.... But what year ranger inner rods?! 19 up? 🙂 Also need to read back and see what tools are needed. I have the jks sleeves on there which could complicate things. Lol

We should have filmed it. @Copperhorse73 can attest to how simple it was. You can do the whole job well enough to get home with 2 crescent wrenches and a flat head screwdriver as a minimum. I also recommend a hammer, needlenose, and side cutters. A set of sockets and impact is icing on the cake if available.

100% simple. The only part I wasn’t sure on (still not as I wasnt watching closely) is how to preserve the boot clamp. I’ll probably include a 2.5” clamp in my field kit as well

I bough a pair on Amazon for $35. They now live in the Bronco just in case.

I bought two in a single purchase from NAPA for under $40 - two different makes showed up. Figured they’ll do the trick in a pinch - but, WTF. At least send two identical items. Haha.

The 04-08 F150 inner and the 09-14 F150 outer. Perfect if it would just go in. The taper needs to be opened up just 0.070" more.
