Looking for how to use Forscan to set up the following situation.

Hero switch turns on IR pod lights, which also....
* enables power to front facing infrared dashcam (this).
* opens up camera video output on display

i searched through the ForScan, Programmers, Tuners, Coders thread and didnt find anything similar to this situation.

I don't believe you will be able to accomplish this with FORScan. FORScan can only modify code that is present on the modules already. It cannot create code.

Turn on Baja mode, then get a switched digital RCA splitter, then run the camera to the one input and your other device to the other input....output to factory screen and then you can switch between camera and laptop AND have full screen.

That'll work for me about 70% of the time, except for when we need to have the goat mode in rain or snow modes.

IR lights are not going to help a thermal camera

They enable a thermal camera to also see thru heavy fog and better night vision.

I also see a device available that tricks the screen into thinking the vehicle is never moving...so the screen stays on in other modes at any speed.

Most IR lights are near-infrared like 800-1100nm wavelength, Thermal imaging is done in the mid-wavelength and long-wavelength of the infrared spectrum like 3000nm-15000nm. You might as well be using normal fog lights(normal visual spectrum is about 380-740nm) for all a thermal imaging camera is going to care.

Could you shed a little light on the unit for us or if there was another thread on it, would you please share a link? Any pros/cons with the device?

yes please, that sounds really interesting. I sure don't want to drive around in Baja all the time, but if I could just tap the camera button at any speed and see where I'm going, that would be great!
