Planning on doing some long road trips in the future (first summer after Bronco delivery will most likely go up to the Yukon) as well as off roading/overlanding. Trying to find some solutions for mounting a jerry can on the exterior of the truck.
I did a quick google search and found a couple for Jeepā€™s that mount to the spare tire (covers backup cam though) or to rear gate hinges. If there was one that mounted on the side of the spare it would be better than mounting on the back.
Anybody know of any other mounting locations or aftermarket products available?
(Iā€™m not getting any roof racks as Iā€™ve never liked the look of any vehicle with them, and Iā€™ll probably run a soft top in the summer months, so rooftop cargo is out of the question)

They make them for Jeep spare tire area and Iā€™m sure for the Bronco eventually.

I figured there would be some sort of hitch-mounted solution for Rotopax, but everything like that I have found so far seems to revolve around also mounting a spare tire...

Found this a while back and have confirmed with the company they are working on a no drill solution for the Bronco.

These are pretty common but you need to buy into the rotopax ā€˜systemā€™: https://rotopax.com/rotopax-ez-tire-kit.html
I worry about this because the Bronco tailgate can open past 90 degrees. This was my initial solution as well, but I am not sure if the rotopax on the passenger side will hit if you open the tailgate fully. They seem to work great on Jeeps, though.

I secure my Rotopax cans on a Rotopax universal mounting plate at the rear of my FJ's roof rack crossbars, parallel to the top of the roof. I use the keyed locks in the handles for security. Haven't had a leak yet. There's enough room left at the front for me to mount my Tred recovery boards. As soon as I get my Bronco, I plan to figure out how best to do the same. I assume anyone using the Yakima tray on the roof rails should not have any trouble.
