This was the conversation I had with my dealer two weeks ago during ordering. I really wanted a 2.7L, but there are so many delay or late availability items already and the looming chip issue cemented my decision to downgrade to a 2.3L.100%, shared 2.7 engine, shared 10 speed transmission, most likley shared or similar engine, climate and various system controllers.
Watch for impacts to the Ranger as another predictor.
