So I took down my soft top for the first time today, and have two questions:

  1. I see in some YouTube videos the Bronco should have come with some straps to tie down the soft top, for when you’re going off roading. Can someone confirm these should be inside the Bronco tool kit pouch or is there somewhere else they are located? I have the tool kit with everything in it it seems, including the door guards and the guide pin for the doors. If somebody could also post a picture of the straps that would be helpful when I reach out to my sales person.
  2. When folding the soft top back up, is it just me or is the latch point between the front and back doors difficult to secure again? I seem to have to push down quite hard to get it to connect and latch again. Not the end of the world, however I was anticipating it to be a lot easier considering how easy it was for the soft top to fold back.

Thanks!

My straps where just thrown in the glove box and they are a little hard to snap on but it's nothing crazy. So not exactly sure how difficult you are finding it but remember the clamp has to be strong to get a good seal

I just went through my glove box and tool kit; nothing in there sadly.

Damn it… now I have to pull out my security drawer to check in there lol. I guess it gives me a reason to relocate the jack inside my drawer at the same time.

I think mine were in the glove compartment or maybe center console, can't remember, but any long enough velcro strap works the same. If your dealer has them on hand get them for free, otherwise I'd just buy some at the hardware store.

Don't know about the center lock, haven't folded mine all the way down yet.

Just cheap Velcro straps. You can purchase them anywhere.
I shouldn’t have to buy them though. The dealership can order them in I’m sure.

I looked under the rear cargo storage area - nothing there sadly. Good thing was I relocated all that stuff into my security drawer now. Wouldn’t want to have to remove that drawer if I needed to swap a tire!

They’re basic nylon straps with Velcro hook & loop strips on each end (see photo below). One nests inside the other, and when folded with all of the Velcro hooks & loops attached as shown, fit perfectly lengthwise inside one of the two zippered pouches in the tool kit.

Thanks! My salespersons going to look into it tomorrow for me. Thankfully it’s still Winter and these aren’t an urgent thing right now.

Anybody have feedback on my second question? Maybe folks who live somewhere nice and warm who have had their soft top up & down?

FWIW, I read somewhere here on the forum that you may need to drop the top a few inches above the latches and use the force of gravity to get the latches to close securely, similar to how you close the hood with the force of gravity rather than pressing it closed and potentially bending the hood. I can personally confirm that this technique works well for the hood. Unfortunately, I cannot confirm that it works for the soft top latches, because I still haven’t opened my soft top all the way, due to the cold weather.
