Would be cooler if they made a door panel that clamped on to the tubes for a factory look. Cool party trick in my mind.

I guess that wouldn’t work with windows and such though. End up being worse than just stock doors weight wise.

Yes this was a legit thing found by @72roadster. So I would count on there being some kind of tube doors like what you see here being available.(Just without the regular doors at the same time)

I still believe this is an ugly photoshop.
Nothing makes sense...
1- why have tube doors while the factory doors are still on?
2- how 2 doors share the same hinges?
3 - the tube are in front of the door handles
4- the tube doors are shorter than the factory doors, how could they close?

probably more inconsistencies but that’s enough to tell this is not gonna be an accessory as shown on that picture...

It’s like doudle sided taped tube doors over factory doors ?

 I think you are being a tad literal. It's a pic that shows what the tube doors will look like and the placement in comparison to the regular doors. Of course it's photoshopped.

From the first post, it’s from Ford’s configurator website. These images are created on the fly at the server depending on what variables you enter in with the image (color, doors, etc...). @72roadster found the variable to show the tube doors, but had not yet found the variable to remove the stock doors. This is also about the time Ford shut it down. So, we’re just left with that image until Ford opens it up again.

Wait... what would these doors actually be used for?
This makes no sense.

I want to get a 2-door with the holes that you see in the launch video. Why?

1. Likely, it will come with some kind of panel in case it rains or is left in a parking lot (for security). If not, that would be a nice project for me to customize the Bronco.
2. Also these would likely be street legal where "doors off" would not. If so, I could swap out for the whole Summer.
3. If you get a 2-door, you will have to leave your doors behind some tumbleweed when it is time to take the doors off... you cannot put it in the back area like a 4 door.
4. The look is superdeluxe. At first people would think it is for show only... until I explain #1-3 to them.

How much do we think the "hole-y doors" will be?

There was leak a few months ago regarding a patent by ford for something similar to this.
These would be for hardcore off roading. Leave the good doors at home and drop on the tube doors for banging through woods.
They remind me of roller coaster safety bars...love it!

I think you can technically put the removed doors in the back of a 2-door Bronco, but the rear seats have to be down and the door panels have to be aligned front-to-back. They won’t simply store in the tiny cargo space behind the rear seats like they will on the 4-door model. Probably not very practical for most, but perhaps better than leaving them behind a tumbleweed.
