Would be nice to find one that would secure the two-door, two doors.

When I had an FJ Cruiser, I had a 'porch' and folding extension from Wal-Mart. I went to my local full service hitch store (in Duluth, GA) and got an 8" extension. That allowed me to fold it behind the spare. I still have all that and will get to use it again.

BTW, I got reflective tape from Harbor Freight and put it around the edges and the bottom. Just hoping that it will help with bruised shins and inattentive drivers.

If your going to get one of these buy one where the platform/basket is one piece. I got one from pepboys where the basket is made up of a left and right piece that you bolt together. After several years its starting to sag. All the bolts are tight, maybe its just cheap metal.

I think I've settled on this one: https://www.curtmfg.com/part/18151

With a drop down shank, mostly just to get low enough to drag a deer onto until I can get him back to the barn.....

I built one of these once, with wheels so it could serve as one of those dolly things for luggage at a hotel but not have to load and unload multiple times. It didn’t fold up though... and my aspirations for motorizing the lift part never came to fruition, but it worked well. I would have tried to patent it, but that’s costly and it probably wouldn’t have sold much anyway

Hey, I like it. Especially for a 200# buck solo. I see the shank permits it to fold Up, but can it fold "down" as you suggest ? With a hitch extension it looks great

Looks to be the exact same one being offered through Ford Accessories...
Just popped into a Harbor Freight for grins since I was at a client next door....and for what I need, they've got stuff that'll work. Yes, likely made in China, but I need it for ONE purpose: dragging a deer out until I get it to the barn. So won't be on the highway where stability and strength matter....

This one here looks almost exactly the same as the Curt but for half the price.

I’m looking to do the exact same thing. Which swing arm is that?
