Day three… made it to toad river lodge. I’m convinced the analog speedometer is for those of us from the US who switch to km/h while in Canada but still want to shift using mph 🤪 that’s the only use I’ve found for that gauge personally, haha.

pics from the day (I’m impressed by the number of detours due to the YHaul so far 🙃)

Day four: northward and onward. Landed at six mile river resort for the night! Saw some buffalo (bison?). Went to where all the license plates in the world are laid to rest.

Thanks! Yeah, winters in Eastern WA have been interesting from time to time. When I first moved over there it felt like I came to Hoth, but I got used to it. I’m sure it’s going to be like that all over again now? Though!
Now you are just gonna abandon us in Eastern WA, just like that, eh? 😂

Anyways, have fun in Alaska, I know you won't miss the tumble weeds out here. 😂

Well it WAS fun dodging them driving along 26. May have resulted in some near misses 😅 ooh, and hitting dust devils on a motorcycle is always fun 🤣

But I’ll miss eastern WA too. Been there 14 years and it felt like home!

Whoops, forgot about posting for the last leg of my journey.

The final three hundred or so miles of the Al-Can highway were ROUGH. Picture the worst pot hole you see on the street and scatter it randomly in groups of 15-30 every fifth of a mile. It was a lot of accelerating and engine braking in fourth for about a day. That, and I leaned what “frost heaves” are and what they do to a road. Things smoothed out for the last bit leading to Fairbanks, but for a while there in worried the bronco was going to throw a shoe (or the uhaul was going to haul it’s butt skyward).

Fairbanks is pretty great. Pretty sure a fellow member found me out and parked next to me, haha ;)

Couple of pics from the final leg, getting the uhaul unloaded and the old MC out of the truck, and the “dry cabin” I’ll be living in until I find my Alaskan dream home.

Almost forgot, here are some trip stats as reported by the bronco. There are a few extra miles from driving around Fairbanks for a few days. I think the base tire setup ain’t bad for fuel economy, though it kind of looks like I’m driving around on castor wheels 😅

I drove from Seattle to Fairbanks in 2004. Its an awesome trip!
Yeah, we had a heck of a time! I only wish I had more days off work to get more out of the journey, I’m sure there were a ton of sights to see that I missed! Did you drive the route that goes through Banff?

Awesome pictures! I've been thankful enough to visit most of the places you drove through - I'm obviously heavily bias on how awesome British Columbia is though.

Can't wait to make it up to Alaska one day; I've always wanted to visit.
