Final Preparation - how long does it take at dealer?

Once Bronco arrives at dealer...how long does dealer Final preparation take...I'm just wondering and waiting on email from Ford

Depends on what you want - I've always told dealers that when my vehicle arrives I want minimal prep - leave all the wrapping intact, I want to unwrap myself like a huge present, and absolutely don't wash it, I'll do that Both my Jeep and Bronco had to sit for 5 days while I secured the financing because they came in much quicker than expected, but I would have expected to take delivery the day after they arrived if I was ready.

It would depend on the backlog in the service department and the PDI crew. I got notified at 1:42pm and was test driving it by 5pm.

same. When they balk, I tell them I want my little girls to”unwrap” it. The reality is I also don’t want the dealer marring the hell out of the paint! At least my kids know how to properly wash a vehicle…

Yeah, depends on the dealer. Mine arrived at the dealer at 11:00 AM and drove it home spotless at 8:00 PM The same day. Ciocca Ford Souderton. They were awesome and continue to be.

Never had one balk, but the first I asked this of said "fine, but you better give me a good review when they ask if it was clean". To which I replied "If you do the minimal prep and PDI, and otherwise don't touch it, I'll give all 5s, which they loved and ever since, that is how I approach this topic: "Do minimal prep and I'll give you all 5s"

Depends on lots of factors. My salesperson was good - she pushed it through very quickly and had me on my way in less than a day.

Mone took 3 days (arrived Wednesday eve ready Friday morn). They went through & updated software, checked it for recalls and pulled the plastic wrap off. But mine was delivered when every day was new service bulletin for Ford.

Whe I got my Spark the dealer actually asked if I'd take delivery prior to having all the service bulletins and recalls addressed. I emphatically told them no (one of the recalls was for a spontaneous airbag deployment).

Mine took 2 days arroved on a Tuesday picked up Thursday afternoon

Shouldn't take more than a couple hours, including running it through the wash rack.

Mine arrived near close of business on a Tuesday and was ready at 0900 the next morning.

Note that's 1-2 hours per vehicle, and a dealership is likely to get 8-16 cars at a time, and multiple deliveries in a day. However, most dealerships prep customer orders first.

The only thing to keep in mind if you don't have them unwrap or otherwise wash it off before delivery is damage incurred during shipping/rail. We had them do minimal prep, but enough so when we picked it up, we were able to do a detailed visual inspection of the paint - we discovered a small chip in the paint at the bottom of one door, likely from the rail transport. They fixed it onsite and were on our way. I wasn't as concerned about them damaging the paint by rinsing off since I was immediately taking it to a specialist to be clay-barred and ceramic coated.

Mine offloaded the truck at 0800 and was ready by 1130. My dealer was on it
