I have frequented Cleveland Engine as part of my job in powertrain development at Ford and can assure you the 2.3 in the Bronco is made there

I also have the engine made in Mexico for my 2.3 - not sure how that sticker could be wrong if it is on the truck.

But I got to be honest, I purchased my Bronco from a dealer that is not close to me and I'm concerned about driving it home.
Don't stress, you won't make it too far...

Just kidding! Plus, with 3000 Dealers in North America, chances are that if it does die, it won't be far from a dealership. ;)

I don’t like it but I would still stand behind the American Made.
Is there still a Windsor engine plant in Canada?
So to get this clear, if it's garbage but made in the US you'd defend it? If it was good but made in Mexico you'd like it less than the hypothetical American garbage?

I just Googled it and there are actually two in Windsor. I was visiting friends there in August and test drove a 4-door Base past one of them - without even realizing it at the time! 😄

yes, a version of that ! We have to stop outsourcing everything. I would rather have it made in the USA no matter what.

Some of the best Ford engines came out of Windsor Canada, and I’m fine with that. But Mexico and China don’t play by the same rules.

Yeah originally my plan was to have my wife drive me down and drop me off at the dealer and she could leave while I handle all the paperwork. But now I'm thinking I'm going to make them follow me home.

Luckily my drive is not like from Ohio back to California but just from the Bay area back to northern Sacramento area..so like 100+

I just don't want to be stranded in Oakland or the like :/

according to the Ford rep I’m working with - they only make one disbursement when the car is fixed snd case is closed. So, technically, I don’t know yet.

but what I’ll be asking for is:
1. Coverage of rental car (already approved)
2. Extended warranty on the bronco (looks probable)
3. Reimbursement for car payment and insurance for the period of time that it was unavailable to me.

I’ll report back when all is said and done.
