My dealer gave me a courtesy carwash today. Because the license plate extends under the bumper, the whirling brushes caught it and beat it up. It even pulled the left upper attachment point free from the bumper. Any suggestions on how I can "harden" the mount to withstand carwash equipment?

I would remove the bracket before the next machine wash. You could go larger fasteners and increase the torque but I don’t know at what point the bumper is damaged from over tightening. Testing was done up to the amount on the instructions.
What hardware did you buy for the install? I also have the standard bumper, but I'm not sure of what will hold this in place without wiggling free eventually...
Finally got mine on... very happy with it. Standard bumper so had to drill and bought some hardware for the install. So much better than factory suggested location. Thanks!
I bought and used some of what came in this package... used the caps on the rear too. No complaints. What hardware did you buy for the install? I also have the standard bumper, but I'm not sure of what will hold this in place without wiggling free eventually...
