My dealer gave me a courtesy carwash today. Because the license plate extends under the bumper, the whirling brushes caught it and beat it up. It even pulled the left upper attachment point free from the bumper. Any suggestions on how I can "harden" the mount to withstand carwash equipment?

I would remove the bracket before the next machine wash. You could go larger fasteners and increase the torque but I don’t know at what point the bumper is damaged from over tightening. Testing was done up to the amount on the instructions.

Finally got mine on... very happy with it. Standard bumper so had to drill and bought some hardware for the install. So much better than factory suggested location. Thanks!

What hardware did you buy for the install? I also have the standard bumper, but I'm not sure of what will hold this in place without wiggling free eventually...

Never use brushed automatic washes! Only touch free if you care about the paint

It’s been a year since I created a front license plate bracket. I would like to say “THANK YOU” to the forum for all the support. I’ve gotten a lot of joy from helping others fix Ford’s poor mounting solution. It’s a great feeling to see Bronco’s with my brackets spread all over the globe (Germany, Saudi Arabi, Alaska, Virgin Islands,etc….). Special thank you to the members that helped with the development and solution for Ford’s capable bumper dimensional issues, I could not have done it without you.

Going forward I’ll keep selling brackets as long as y’all need them.
