I've only ever seen element extinguishers used on small controlled fires and you gotta get way to close in my opinion.

Had a '91 skyline explode on a track day and the Element was like a little fart in the wind. I know for a fact I didn't use it right, but there was no way to get close enough to race gas and methanol burning for it to do anything. A fellow racer stopped and a 5lb ABC managed to quell the flames, which is now what I run.

When my stuff is on fire I want more than one opportunity from 2ft away to extinguish it.

I've worked for the fire department for 21 years and I talk about what I carry and why (around 00:50 in the video) Indeed it's a 2.5 pound ABC dry chemical.

Yep it’s their underseat rail. I also got their roll bar mount but it didn’t fit the contour of the bronco very well.

I don't have as much experience in the fire service as @B Miller but 10 years as a volly and I cary a 2.5lb ABC/dry chem. I'd like to carry something a little larger cause 2.5lb is basically the bare minimum if you can catch the fire early. I don't trust the element extinguishers. I have mine mounted on the molle tailgate table with a Quick Fist mount. I like the brand Amerex because that was the brand we had at the firehouse and never had an issue with.

I’ve put a 2.5lbs extinguisher under the driver seat using some mounts from DDI. If I need an extinguisher I don’t want to have to run around to the back and get the tailgate open to use it

I fiddled with their MMP grid a bit when I installed to get it juuuuust right. There’s plenty of vertical and horizontal adjustment you can get depending on how big the bottle is, and how far forward you like your seat. I’m 5’9” and drive a 7MT so I keep the seat pretty far forward and it clears with 1-2 clicks of adjustment left.
