I had mine done at 5000 miles when it was in for warranty work, used Fordpass points. I’ll do them at home going forward at 5000 mile intervals.

I'm guilty of cutting the oil filters open, change the first oil early.

Smaller displacement, higher revving, turbo charged engines are harder on oil in my opinion

I personally did mine at 1000 miles. I like running a full synthetic.6 months or 7500 miles for changes. I’ve gotten 300k out of several engines. Do what makes sense for you. Your going to get a thousand different opinions.

Now when I build an engine that’s a different animal. I tend to use a different oil for break in, depending on the platform / engine family.
This guy knows what he is talking. about! Oil is cheap, and there is nothing wrong with changing oil early. Or wait until 5-10k, it’s your rig to do with as one sees fit.

Oil is cheap? Hmmmmmmm. Pretty sure I justpaid 5.25 a gallon for home heating oil yesterday. Paid 5.00 a gallon for regular gas today. Where is this cheap oil you speak of?

Your dealer didn't include at least one or two oil changes/services when you bought your Bronco?

Mine threw in 4, I just took my Badlands in for it's first oil change at 1,250 miles on the odo. Next one will be at 5000 and every 5000 after that, with tire rotations.

it would be awesome if you took the 1.3 seconds it took to respond to this and maybe extend that a bit to 20-30 seconds and write something constructive.
Is your search function broken? This has been discussed 100s of times.

I bought Mobile 1 synthetic 5qt jugs for $23/ea at Lowe’s. Cheapest I’ve seen.

Did my first at 1000. Ford pass points should cover it..got a ford credit card for my down payment then instantly paid it off. Got enough ford pass points from it for at least 9 or 10 oil changes.

just hit 1000 miles and i remember reading somewhere it might be a good idea to change early to get the factory "grit" out of the engine.

Any truth to this lore? 2.7 btw.
I did my first change and every oil change at 3000 never had an issue

Conversely, it would have been just as awesome if you searched the topic on the forum using the search function instead of posting a new thread while saying you remembered seeing something...

Don't imply someone is lazy when you couldn't be bothered researching something and want answers to fall in your lap.

Hope that's constructive enough for you.

Here’s what my 985mi oil looked like. Is it necessary? (Insert Patches O'Houlihan quote). Changing it early makes me feel warm and fuzzy and that’s a good enough reason.

the current rate for a full synthetic oil change on a 2.7 engine is around $ 143. I did my first at 3000, my second at 8000 and I will likely maintain an every 5000 mile interval.

That would put my total cost at $ 286 per year, or approximately 0.6% of my MSRP per year.

My point, why spend so much time discussing and considering something so trivial, yet undisputed so important and contributing to longevity of your engine.

Yes, go do your oil change. You and your engine will feel great!
