Yeah I don’t think the screws were too long that came with table there’s been a few other people on site that have had theirs installed without this happening At least they’re going to fix it but still could have been avoided
I'm building an accessory display and put one of these on it. Small bag of hardware with short screws. They use a 7/16 bit for the expanding nuts that go into the door.

Any chance you have maxtrax recovery boards? I have been trying to figure the best place to mount them if i have the enclosure. Looks like they are too long to fit inside, but was wondering if there was space to mount between the seats and the enclosure, or if they could be strapped to the top and not get in the way of the soft top.

You win! You are the first person to pick up their Bronco and get it immediately dirty then post pics of it. You win all of the 6Gs. Someone get this man his prize.

Also about the screw poking out. A. The reason its only rated for 25lbs is because they used screws and not bolts or anchors. There should have been the "Bronco" bolts in the tailgate. Ohh well. And B. I guarantee that there are different screw lengths for different spots and someone f'd up. It happens. Atleast it was dealer installed and not something you did, because it could happen to anyone and will likely happen to 5% of the people that buy it and install themselves.

Awesome write up, keep getting it muddy. Right now Im a toss up between BD SAS (when available with MT) and BL. Definitely getting Blue though. I am at odds with how the grey of the grill looks. I kinda want it blue too.

So first, meet Luci. "Hi Luci." Luci is my Sasquatch, purchased from Hardy Ford in Dallas, GA. Here's the preview; She showed up on 7/19, but the dealer didn't have time to finish prepping her and installing my accessories. Apparently, they went through her with a fine-tooth comb. So these are the photos I got from my 'inspection' that day. IIRC they mentioned that there were three customer rigs and two mannequins delivered. BTW Cactus grey is a crap color for a Ranger, but looks great on a Soft-top Bronco (you can see it in the background, looks kind of white here).

The Build:
  • Badlands
  • Sasquatch
  • Mid-package
  • 4 door
  • 2.7L EcoBoost V6
  • 10-speed automatic
  • Velocity Blue Metallic
  • Soft-Top
  • Black Marine-Grade Vinyl Seats
  • Remote Start
  • Keyless Entry Keypad (on the door)
  • Tow package
  • MSRP $54,270
Next.... Delivery

Delivery; I was apparently the first customer to take delivery from this dealership. They finished installing my accessories by around noon. I had ordered the tailgate table and the rear cargo enclosure with the raising lid. The salesman meets me and says he needs to show me something. I say, "There's a bunch of stuff you need to show me!" But, he says "I mean, something happened." My only thought is 'I'm taking this home today'. So as we're walking out to see Luci, he starts explaining, 'The tech followed all the Ford instructions and installed everything correctly. But they noticed there was a problem.' So we round the corner and there she is.

So, what's the problem? He takes me around the back, and points out this:

This could have ruined my day. But nah, I was too pumped, this was not going to ruin it for me. This was finally my day. So what happened? Apparently, one (or more) of the screws to secure the folding table were too long - from the Ford supplied kit. So it ended up poking through to the back skin of the tailgate and there is a slight crack in the paint that you can just feel. No problem though, Hardy Ford is going to take care of it. I told them to call Ford, and make Ford take care of it, and fix their kit while they're at it!

Other than that, the Marketing Manager just had to come out and take my picture, and at that point I realized I had been smiling the whole time -- I don't smile much, but that lasted all day.

Enjoy some more pictures from delivery and next I'll share some specific details and my thoughts from the first 24 hours.

So, before I move on to broader topics, a few notes on this cargo enclosure.

This thing is kinda sweet, but not fully hatched. If you plan on going around with the top or doors off but still want to securely store stuff... this is the answer. But, there is a cost. The lid on this model does raise up with gas shocks rated at 20lbs each. However, that is only enough to hold the lid itself. Add any more weight, and it falls. Unfortunately, with the softtop, the rear frame also rests on this piece, and you have to raise that at the same time. So, you end up having to hold up the whole assembly if you want to raise the lid of the cargo area. The rear frame for the top does have a little kickstand, but it doesn't work when the cargo lid is up. This wasn't really fully thought out.

20210720_163728.jpg

Also, while this looks like it was intended to be removable, my dealer didn't give me the instructions. Taking a close look at it, it does not appear to be a simple process. I think if the hinges were spring-loaded pins, rather than nylocked-nuts & bolts, it would make a world of difference. Which brings me to another point. The lit raises, but it is not removable. Removal requires partial disassembly. If this were addressed, I think this would be the killer accessory.

Skipping forward a bit, lets just take a look at how the first 24 hours wrapped up. Not much need for words here, so here it goes..

Thanks
Hardy has been great. My work does business with their Chevy side and I've never had issues with them. Ford tried to direct me to Wade, but... well, no... that's all I'll say. I had a contractor working on my house the day Luci showed up, so I couldn't be gone long. I had already setup a lot of stuff with them in advance anyway. Alison, my sales person was very sick, so they put me with another guy to finish out the process and it all went very well. They were even able to quickly do electronic documents so I could minimize my time in the dealership and get back home.
Thanks @stuston for the response. Alison is my rep too and she's been great to work with. I spoke to her today when I heard that you took delivery. She said that they had not received their Mannequins yet, those were customer orders. Oh well, hope to see you out there on the roads soon! If a crazy guy in a grey toyota camry tries to flag you down that's probably me! 😆

STUNNING!!! Congratulations. I don't have VB on my build but might change it to VB depending on 22' colors. It looks to me that the enclosure is easily removed. Is that the case?

Just curious...when did you place the order for that security box accessory? At the same time you converted your order or sometime after? Or was this a separate order (e.g. using the Ford points or separate cash order) and the dealership just had it ready to be installed?

I'm building an accessory display and put one of these on it. Small bag of hardware with short screws. They use a 7/16 bit for the expanding nuts that go into the door.
Ahh... see, they didn't provide me with any of the instructions. I should have asked for them, especially with the enclosure, but then I might have realized that. To his credit, the salesman that had to break the news was very humble and forthwright, while also not saying exactly what happened - I think I assumed the screw was what caused it.

Don't have any. I don't think you'll have any luck with them in my configuration. Since the middle of the roll cage is completely open, you may be able to rig up something there. Keep posted, I will have some pictures and info on some mounting points that I don't think anyone has discussed.

It actually mounts in some slots on the tailgate, the screws just keep it from bouncing out or rattling (if I have to answer that question again...). They didn't even ask if I wanted them to mount, they just did - It's been real busy, so I let them this time, otherwise I would have happily done it myself.

How's traction in that Georgia clay?
Traction? You ain't from around here, are ya son?

I was really bummed when I saw I was missing out on that, but I wasn't about to delay my delivery. I did put in another reservation though. Don't tell my wife.

Just curious...when did you place the order for that security box accessory? At the same time you converted your order or sometime after? Or was this a separate order (e.g. using the Ford points or separate cash order) and the dealership just had it ready to be installed?
When I got the shipping confirmation from Ford, my dealer rep asked if I wanted her to order any accessories so they would be here in time. There are still some that are unavailable, no surprise. There were also a few I inquired about that I skipped on, like the sun shield - $80... nah. I used the Ford points. I just had to get signed up on the Ford Pass app and transfer the points to the dealership. They needed my member number because the points are not immediately in your account, so they basically IOU it.

Question Does the table rattle? I too had the TH table installed and it rattles bad. Actually going back to the dealer fix or remove.
OP answered that question maybe 2 or 3 times. It doesn't rattle both on and off road. Bring yours back to the dealer to get checked out.

OP actually said one time..".It actually mounts in some slots on the tailgate, the screws just keep it from bouncing out or rattling (if I have to answer that question again...)."

EDIT: Maybe your dealer didn't do this?
Anyway...
1) it is important to place the grooved rubber pieces (in the tail gate slots) to keep this accessory from rattling on the tailgate. The directions don't cover this detail.

Reader request time.

@Norsk82 asked about the accessories, which can be found here and the PDF attached below. Of the ones I inquired with my dealer about, these are the prices I was quoted:
  • CARGO AREA ENCLOSURE, DELUXE RAISED LID $639
  • CARGO NET $19
  • TABLE FOR SWING GATE $209
  • tire cover with the 'abstract bronco' logo on it - $80
  • HITCH PLUG BY TOWING ACCESSORIES GROUP $15 - $50 (WTH?)
  • WINDSHIELD SUNSCREEN $79
Ford Authority has a complete list with prices, but no details.

Here are some pics of the top fully down, with the storage box in place... and it still isn't making a sound.

There was a lot of lithium grease on the door latches... it seemed to have gotten on someone's pants. There was also a small dab on the visor.

So, before I move on to broader topics, a few notes on this cargo enclosure.

There are access holes for the 12v outlet, light, and the storage cubbies, but they could be bigger.

Great post congratulations!

I spent some time at Ft Benning and familiar with the clay but I hated those damn fire ants! Man they would but and leave a small white bump for months!

question if I have this correct with the doors off you can only unlock the tailgate with the fob correct? I have the diamond back cover on my truck but always thought all you have to do is break window and unlock the doors / tailgate and you are in.
