painted flares are just too much body color and they don’t appear to be color match which would drive my crazy. I had an aftermarket painted wingless trunk on my old Subbie and color was just slightly off and it bothered me. There’s also the issue of keeping the flares looking good without rock chips etc. Unpainted flares are zero worry and the contrast between black and the body looks good aesthetically.

The back fender, in particular, looks much better now. It's still super fat, but at least you don't have the layers of different pieces of black plastic that the OG flares have. Now it looks like a fender flare + a mudflap, and it looks like it was designed that way.

"Lipstick on a pig" or warthog comes to mind.

The fact the the fenders are about two shades lighter than the body would drive me insane. Assuming the owner is color blind or was to hopped up on coke to give a shit.

OP, can you tell me where you had the work done?

I had my front fenders removed for PPF, some of the clips broke.

Can’t see to find the proper replacement clips.

Looks great! I have the same color but only reason I won’t do it also is because I wheel it too much.
