I swear i said something about auto transmissions leaving you stranded. If it was a manual you could have just gotten a tow or not had the problem at all.

Oh , I drove a 2.7 two door yesterday, and it’s re-initiated the 2.7 vs 7MT debate.

Same exact thing happened to my younger brother's Ford Fusion in a Kroger parking lot a few weeks ago. It was a cable connection issue with the gear shift causing it to not shift in other drive modes.

Is that Black bear pass trail? I would be livid if I had this issue and was forced to leave my 60k+ vehicle on a trail because of Ford quality control problems.

That fob holder is for use if the battery in the fob is too weak to be recognized.

I attempted the fob holder in the console. Had no effect.

But with an auto can't you get to the park override and put in in neutral and get a tow also? I had to do this several years ago on a Honda Accord we had.

No not Black Bear. Looks to be southwest of Denver, possibly off of US285, good Aspen leaf viewing time of year for that area.

UPDATE: finally fixed! After two ford engineers and six weeks in the shop I just told them to read the owners manual and problem solved. No but seriously after all that they tracked it down to a connection issue with the antanna for the fob issue but that had no effect on the shifting problem. That turned out to be a bad connector into the module (whatever they mean by that). Getting stranded a few time and six weeks in the shop boiled down to what essentially was two loose wires.

I think we're well past the point where all this added tech does more harm than good. Taking these new cars to a small-town dealer is like opting for a heart transplant at one of those doc-in-a-box places
