My FE finally got released from dirt mountain. Going to pick up in a week or 2. Anyone have an outside to outside on the tires for trailering a 4dr first edition.

Want to make sure 100% before I haul my trailer to dealership it’s going to fit between the fenders. Prefer not to drive it 800 miles home.

Also to those of you who trailered, did you strap the axles or use tire straps?

I just saw a video of someone measuring the width at roughly 83" wheel to wheel, but that didn't sit right with me. I am curious if we can get a real world number from someone here.

These are Fords numbers, FYI.

I used axle straps front and back when I picked it up. LCA up front and axle in the back. I prefer to strap through the tire but that isn't an option on the BD.

Yep, need real world. I'm guessing the chart is right on width. But the height of the Sas makes no sense, it should be about 2" taller than the Badlands and it shows 5", almost like they added in the rack??

This trailer is 81" between the fenders. The D-ring on the wheel straps I have did not fit through the wheels. I had to use axle wraps. Ford has the track width as 66.9", but I'm not sure if that is center to center or outside to ouside.

My trailer is 82 inches clear in between the fenders. The tires cleared by 1-1/2 inches on each side.
I used wheel straps on all four wheels.

What part of the front did you attach the tie down to? The lower control arm?

I used an axle wrap and wrapped them through the lower control arms.
