OK 52 posts in, where did we officially land on the mpg? 😁 And this is for 2.7 SAS?
What I find interesting is that this appears to be build destined for a Quebec dealership as some sort of dealer demo as it includes information that others did not and there is nothing on the window sticker indicating it is not for sale. I don’t think they would go through the trouble of a detailed French window sticker with pricing if that wasn’t the case. I could be wrong but if not It could be a good sign for things moving forward.

Come on. How many times as admin have you seen me post about the rated MPGs of the new ranger tremor. that is 19/19 with smaller tires, smaller engine, lighter weight.

Edit: and i'd guess more aerodynamic
Totally fair! The one thing that would affect that is the Ranger being on the old platform vs the new Bronco platform. Not sure what extra efficiencies they could have built in.

Then again, the design of the Bronco clearly has just about ZERO regard for aerodynamics. I would be genuinely curious if they even considered them at all when designing anything except the fender flares/mirrors/windshield. Ford probably just said screw it we’ll deal with the fuel economy penalties for now and in 10 years everything will be a plug in hybrid/full BEV anyways lol.

Here's the numbers from a Canada spec f-150 XL 4x2 with the 2.7
12L/100km City (19.6 US MPG)
9.3L/100km Hwy (25.3 US MPG)
10.8L/100km Combined (21.8 US MPG)

The US numbers are
20 MPG City
26 MPG Hwy
22 MPG Combined

The US number is ever so slightly higher than the Canada number converted (To account for EPA testing cycle differences that someone mentioned). So 17 MPG combined for US should be pretty close to what we'll eventually get from the EPA rating

Peter
There are no differences between the US and Canada test cycles. NRCAN doesn’t call them out by name because Canada but they use the exact same 5 cycle methods for the window sticker as the EPA. So just convert the metric and imperial stuff to US units and that’s what we’ll get, barring any rounding errors like you saw for the F150. Those are probably a matter of how many decimals US and Canada carry in their city/highway/combined calcs.

Canada:
https://www.nrcan.gc.ca/energy-effi...-consumption-r/fuel-consumption-testing/21008

USA:
https://dieselnet.com/standards/cycles/index.php
City = FTP75
Highway = HWFET
High speed/quick acceleration (aka more like how people drive in the real world) = SFTP US06
Cold Temp = same as FTP75 but at 20F
A/C = SFTP SC03

All the crazy formulas to come up with the window sticker numbers are somewhere on the EPA website.

I just checked Jeep.com and it shows the 2D Rubicon: 17 (city), 25 (highway, 20 (combined). Looks like Ford did it again, beat the Wrangler, by .1 this time! 16.9 isn't 17 b*tches! Oh wait, that's the wrong direction.

I realize that’s in CAD, but that would make me sick to my stomach knowing an V8 F250 Tremor can be had for under $50k
No you can't, they start at over 55k for an xlt tremor

It could cost $35 or $95 to fill my tank. I don't think I paid attention to that since college. You need to fill up, you fill up!

The part that was even better was there were at least 12 semi trucks pulling in to obviously drop off parts!!!!!!
Plot twist. They were all just cup holders. :D

This is indeed excellent news!!!

At the Bridgeport Texas event I went to on Saturday here is what the rep told me.

One of the reps watched the MPG monitor while driving a 2.7 V-6 for a couple of hours at 55 to 60mph, he was getting 23mpg. When he kicked it up to 70 to 80mph for a couple of hours it dropped down to 18mpg, the aerodynamic brick in action.

He told me the official EPA mileage mpg numbers will be released in 3 -4 weeks.

F150 clearly values fuel economy because it has the active aero chin spoiler that drops down at highway speeds. Would be a no-go for approach angle on a Bronco.

20mpg combined? Not sure how their fuel ratings work because I’m coming up with 16.9 mpg (converted from 13.9L/100km)

Conversion:

It starts around 54k, and who the hell pays sticker for a full-size pickup? Tremor can be had for a scratch under 50k, at least 6 months ago when I was close to pulling the trigger I could.

Wondering why the combined number is lower than the city number. Need a Canuck to translate to Yankee.
Easiest way to convert is to use google (convert l/100km to mpg) which will allow you to convert to US MPG

Will the 2.3L get better highway, but poorer city; vice-versa?
To be fair, isn't the 4 door Badlands Sasquatch with a 2.7L the heaviest of all Broncos? It's only uphill from there (no pun intended).
👆The primary driver of city mileage is weight, so I would expect the 2.3L to be a bit better than the 2.7L on the EPA rating (how you drive it will be a big difference between specific experiences). The highway is more driven by aerodynamics (but weight is still part of it), but that will basically be the same between the two engines. What is left is small differences in engine efficiency at the actual RPM/throttle settings for the two engines at highway speeds, which I can't really say anything about, because I just don't know. When it gets down to it: gas consumption is based on power generated (which includes power used in the engine/drivetrain to overcome friction, etc). The engines are pretty similar in displacement, both turbocharged (1 larger turbo vs. 2 smaller ones), and I doubt there will be enough difference in mileage to worry about much, especially with the Sasquatch package or between Badlands models. The OBX will likely do a bit better due to lower rolling resistance tires, as will the BB. The Base with the 30" tires will be the mileage king, but will not be a Prius either.

Wow..I can't believe some jackass hasn't commented 'If you're worried about mpg, you shouldn't have ordered an offroad vehicle!'. Crisis averted!! I've come to the rescue!! 😂😂
