Maybe someone has said this already, I don't really feel like reading through the comments, but I have 1 question... why?

Seriously... why?

Why does this thing exist?

We've already gotten rid of the Ranger once because nobody cares about small trucks.

Once upon a time, the Ranchero and El Camino did fairly well, but that time has long past. "Utes" do well in Australia but that's an entirely different market. Why is this a thing?
If nobody cared about small trucks why do I see so many old Rangers on the road? Ford dropped the Ranger because they didn’t have the resources to manage all the vehicles they were building. They had ignored the Ranger for years by refusing to update it. Nissan and Toyota decided they needed to compete with the Dakota and up-sIzed their trucks but there was still a market for small trucks that everybody was ignoring. It’s like the van market. ‘Everybody’ was saying there was no market for small vans when Ford brought out the Transit Connect. It sells well because there IS a market. I think we’ll see the same thing here.

Honestly it's better than I was expecting. I'd take it over a Ridgeline from a strictly appearance standpoint. Still wish it was 2 door, but that goes for everything.
Agree completely. I was really hoping for an old-style 2-door mini truck. But it's almost what I want.

Bronco is my weekend vehicle. But I was thinking of replacing my daily driver with a 2wd mini truck, except they don't really exist anymore. So very disappointed the Maverick isn't being offered in a 2-door.😥

who buys this instead of a ranger? guess i don’t see the market for this vehicle.

i am sure Ford has done enough research to support building it but i don’t get it.
I'm currently driving an '07 regular cab Ranger, and refuse to give it up, It's perfect for me. In 10 years when it finally gives up the ghost, I'll likely get a Maverick.

Naw dog. That's a Ridgeline with a Ford badge. Can't fool me.

It's meant to be an entry level vehicle. We are missing low price alternatives now that we discontinued most of the cars.
Personally, I'd design it to resemble an El Camino.
NO! It's a Ford...
So RANCHERO! 😍😍😍

But why a maverick over another ranger?

Ultra light duty Home Depot/Lowes. Maybe very light handyman company as well.
I keep thinking of pest control companies. My guy just bought 5 Nissan Frontiers for his fleet. He doesn't need that size, but it is what the market provides. He has a rack to hold a ladder on each and the poison/dust/tanks in the bed. If this was available, he likely would have bought 4 for his employees and kept the 1 Frontier for himself (he likes the leather and appointed interior). He would have saved a ton of money and still able to provide work trucks for his employees to tote their poison.

Ford is devaluing the Bronco brand faster than a sandcastle in a thunderstorm. If Ford decided to make toilet bowl cleaning brushes, they'd be called Bronco Brushes.

Notice Ford isn't devaluing the brand credibility of the F-Series name. They're pimping the Bronco name every bit as badly as Chevy did with Blazer
I think it's just a Ford Maverick. No "Bronco" in there.

And the Transit Connect is there as well. Some Maverick articles said they shared some bits along with the Bronco Sport.

Reminds me of the little Ford Courier pickup that I owned back in high school in the early 80’s — “The new economy import” — but with an extended cab and modern touches.

That was the first vehicle I ever owned, so the budget price was perfect for my needs at the time, hauling several whitetail deer in the back during deer season.
Exactly! My first vehicle was a 1976 Ford Courier. My buddy had a Chevy Luv. We drove them in high school like we had monster trucks!
