Hey NOW! I ordered my 2 DR Badlands in A51...and they did it for $10K less. Cute in that girls color.
It’s not the same platform, but I’m sure there is component sharing going on.And the Transit Connect is there as well. Some Maverick article said they shared some bits along with the Bronco Sport.
A fuel-sipping option for the Maverick pickup truck is allegedly under development too, which means the 2.5-liter powertrain of the Evos Hybrid would be perfect for this application. As opposed to the Fusion- and Mondeo-replacing crossover, the unibody workhorse is confirmed on the C2.
Example...What the heck is "a platform"? No, not the political kind...
A basic set of components and hard points to build different vehicles on and save time and money in the process. Platforms work at a different level today, but earlier “body” designations were the predecessor to the modern platform. Think Fox body (Mustang, Fairmont), F-body (Camaro, Firebird). What the heck is "a platform"? No, not the political kind...
Same here. Mine had big wheels on the back with wide mud tires, which created a hella rake to match my mullet at the time.Exactly! My first vehicle was a 1976 Ford Courier. My buddy had a Chevy Luv. We drove them in high school like we had monster trucks!
Size, fuel economy, price, probably lower insurance. I value my money too much than to just hand it over to Ford, Exxon, and Allstate lol.But why a maverick over another ranger?
Practically every city in America had a giant fleet of little white Ford Rangers before they got big.I keep thinking of pest control companies. My guy just bought 5 Nissan Frontiers for his fleet. He doesn't need that size, but it is what the market provides. He has a rack to hold a ladder on each and the poison/dust/tanks in the bed. If this was available, he likely would have bought 4 for his employees and kept the 1 Frontier for himself (he likes the leather and appointed interior). He would have saved a ton of money and still able to provide work trucks for his employees to tote their poison.
Hopefully you can change your color to your BroncoA51 doesn't work on this vehicle in my eyes. But maybe I feel that way because I'm losing my passion for a51 lately
People in my neighborhood. I live in the DC suburbs. Trucks are surprisingly popular even though most are simply too large for city living (tight parking garages, curb parallel parking, etc.). A ranger won't even fit in my garage, but I'd guess that one of these will.who buys this instead of a ranger? guess i don’t see the market for this vehicle.
i am sure Ford has done enough research to support building it but i don’t get it.
Don't forget the best car with truck bed ever, the 1960-1969 Ford Econoline. The car with a truck bed goes all the way back to the Model T lol. El Camino, Ranchero, Rampage, Brat, Ridgeline,...that's just the US and missing some examples I'm sure. Count foreign markets and there's been some variation of the theme in constant production for more than 100 years.
That doesn't move the needle for me even slightly.
