Welp……. I guess it was bound to happen, and given the replacement program I guess I’m not too concerned.
A few days after taking delivery I THOUGHT I felt a drip on my left knee driving down the highway, but it was late, dark and not the place to try to figure it out.
Today, hopped in and hit the road during steady, sometimes heavy rain(affects of hurricane Henri). As soon as I was out of the driveway water started dripping from the seam on the trim over the top of the drivers door, towards the front, but not into the A-pillar(who knows if it’s puddling anywhere internally).
Both times I had been parked on a steep incline(girlfriends driveway is STEEP)-front of the truck higher than the rear. The dripping didn’t started until I was headed down hill, as all the water would have shifted to the front of the car from the rear.

My question is whether I need to worry about any damage to the airbags or if there are any other electrical lines up there

most had come out by now but here’s a picture

All are checked for leaks, not fixed for leaks. The fountain is a no cost standard option.

now that they've reluctantly admitted that there's a massive problem
not to be picky....but have they?

My impression is MIC 2.0 is intended to remedy the flat panel cuts which leave untreated surface...and also to finish with a heavier final coat to remedy the snakeskin.

I'd really like to be proven wrong....anyone else have additional info??

And that's the reason they are all recalled. I though all vehicles were subject to a water test at the factory to check for leaks?
I doubt that... testing a vehicle for leaks takes a long time.

the design is tested over and over, and then the assumption is that the production units will behave similarly.

they might take a few random samples to verify every now and then.

either the parts are so out of spec that seals arent closing up, or the testing missed something.

does anyone know how the warranty language treats MIC leaks?

Or is it totally silent on the issue?

Hopefully they were lying about issues only being cosmetic. Otherwise, this could be a multiple recall disaster for Ford.

Not surprised. Take it into your dealer to get it documented.

Make sure all the seals are clean and everything is seated properly

I'd pop those panels out, make sure the channels are really clean, gaskets are clean/smooth. that sucks though but hopefully it can be kept at bay until your replacement arrives.

addition: definitely call the dealer asap and get it documented.

This made me laugh. I’m grateful to have my truck. The leaks sucks, but I’d hopeful the updated design of the replacement addresses all the issues
