My sales rep has been instructed to not install key fob until I decide it’s location.

Am I just slow...? I'm not really understanding the convenience

If you don't have keys the car can't start? Do you just lock the keys on the car?
Yes. The key is always in the vehicle……

If the ignition is push start, and you

How’s this work with the fob? Wouldn’t it never lock? And since it’s push start, the keypad only gets you in the car but you can’t start it, so you must bring keys still, no?
You can see a video that a fob was locked in back and could be retrieved without going home for another key here:

Wonder if you could put it on the backside of the mirror arm, where the arrow is pointed. Easy to get to and not stuck out. Plus when you have the doors off and you lock your keys in it will be handy.

First Mod was to move the keypad. Saw a video of keys that can get locked in back under security cover. Figured this would solve it. Second was to remove the door warning stickers and cover the VIN and tire labels to look cleaner with doors off.

I haven't seen a keypad in the wild yet. Good to know it's just a stick on. My Explorers have all been integrated into the doors and hard wired

nice, i like both solutions. I will probably put it behind the fuel door on mine. I do wish ford did the hard wired type on these as the stick on ones i've heard dont work that well. I was stubborn and ordered it anyway because my current ford and the one before has them and i use it all the time.

The way I understand the intelligent keypad works, is that if the alarm is tripped, it will disable the keyfob from starting car. So even though the key is inside, assumed by thief, they would still have to trip the alarm to get inside, rendering the keyfob useless. Using the intelligent access keypad authorizes it, which is also why you have to use the keypad to lock the keys inside, the smart button on the door handle will not allow this.

Also, If this is true, then I’m also guessing if you trip the alarm, you would need to use another keyfob, your ford app, or re-enter the correct keypad code to reset.

Well done. I wonder how many walls within the fuel area that thing will fit.

In terms of the stickers, anyone know if a magnet can just stick over those stickers? Did that to my bike and it worked well.
A magnet? the body is Aluminum!!
