4dr OBX just when over 6K miles. Put a small amount of spray silicone on each pin, without removing the tops. Been pop free for over a month now.
This has worked on my Big Bend 4DR for 3+ months now.

Non-popper here. Will definitely keep an eye/ear out and see if it does start doing this. Thanks for the video.

This is a perfect solution for the front and rear panels! Thanks for sharing!!

My biggest issue is the cargo cover. It constantly rattles and squeaks. Any advice on how to silence that portion, since there aren't any pins to cover? Has anyone found a solution?

so TLDR/W.... slightly increase the pin diameter w/ heat-shrink tubing. Got it. Watch the video tho still - OP does a good job of explaining it.

I've only had some moderate 'popping' noises on the passenger side, but 1/4 loosening the locking lever seems to have mitigated the issue temporarily. I'll probably do this trick at some point though. Cheers; thanks for the video.

Thank you so much for figuring this out. It was so annoying. My solution for the time being was turn the music up. Heatshirk on all pins and the noise is gone 👌🏼🙏🏼 Again thanks.

Extremely happy you posted this video. Thank You! Heading to O' Riley tomorrow to pick up the shrink wrap. The popping noise is driving me crazy. My dealer sprayed some lube on the pins that only lasted a week.

My Hardtop Bronco Outerbanks was delivered late October and was making the same clicking/ popping sound too, so in November I took it in to my local Ford dealer for service. They fixed it by using a product called Krytox.. it’s been silent ever since!

Mine made the popping noises infrequently when it was warmer, but now that it is cold it pops like crazy all the time!
I agree with the OP that lubes are not the way to go at least in my environment. They will only attract dust where I don't want it. A recall doesn't really affect me as I am still waiting for my 2.0 top.

Make that whinny 6G members about the noisey MIC. If you ever have to deal with it; you'd understand. It's non stop and just happens to be 8" from the drivers head.
I have a MIC top and have had the popping/snapping sounds, usually after going off road. I simply remove, reposition and secure…presto, no popping, and I don’t feel the need to spew my whine…anything else?

Silicone spray on the locator pin solved mine. Took 2 seconds.

The popping was driving me crazy and I was just going to do the electrical tape fix I read about previously on this forum, but I decided my Bronco deserved nothing but the best so I spent the $5 for heat shrink at O'Reilly and the noise seems to have gone away after a quick spin around the neighborhood. đź‘Ť

By the time my Bronco finally arrives in 2037, it better be perfect.
