Hi everyone, anyone experience this, just looking for a rough idea. Yesterday my bronco was on the manifest to be shipped and then it did not ship. The reason they couldn't ship is because it had a flat tire, however I now have to wait for ford to fix the tire and then they will ship it. Anyone experience this and how long did it take. Shipping via convoy only. Thanks for all the help

Great. So your brand new Ford will come with a plug in the tire.

What luck 😕
It obviously doesn’t take long to put a new tire on but unfortunately it’s an out of sequence change/correction. Hopefully you won’t get pushed off to the side with other QC problems.
Somebody here has enough experience/knowledge of the process to enlighten you.

On a separate note, not sure I’d know how to drive a vehicle without at least one plug. Pretty sure all my truck tires have one. I just had to do a second on the wife’s new explorer 2 nights ago.
Heck, if I ever get my Bronco I’m thinking about popping in a plug right off the bat just to feel at home!

Manufactures and dealerships shouldn't be plugging or patching new unregistered vehicle tires. Huge liability issue. We won't even patch or plug a loaner vehicle tire. A new tire will be installed. Your vehicle will have to wait until a new tire is installed. I would still look over the vehicle at delivery and even look hard at the tires to see if repaired or replaced. Look at date codes more than likely the one replaced will have a different date code.

I was pretty sure these come with a perfectly good tire hanging in the back and they even include a lug wrench to swap it with the flat one. Any flunkie at the shipping dock could be tasked with that.

Call me skeptical. Ford most of the time can’t supply one with generic info, so I am highly suspicious they would know and then relay to you your Bronco had a flat. BTW, I would be less skeptical if they claimed a tire ( or all five tires) were stolen.

Bunch of idiots having an opinion or snarky remarks. Could be they felt to pitch in because they've seen your handle and they believe they reply to a woman. Anyway, the whole tire replacement is going to take long. All parts are ordered based on your VIN and they are not doing a flat but rather replacing wheel/tire. From my experience the little things like flat tire, batter drained, Fob missing or not working, car out of gas takes an extra month at least. Can be faster if regional Ford rep is made aware but I went through the same scenario and it added 8 weeks to my delivery.
Wish you good luck and hopefully you don't have to wait as much as I did

So you too had a flat tire as they were going to load it on the truck, was your delivery convoy or by train, hopefully it's only an extra month I could live with that, 8 weeks is a long time, I'm sorry it took so long how did you hold it together. Hopefully it expedites it since the convoy company has it marked as a hot vehicle, so once it gets a new tire they will ship it.... this is a silly process and no one has answers for me, I hate that, I want to know!!!!

It was a bad FOB but it's the same process. Not sure what "hot vehicle" is and how long is going to take them but is going to be eventually fixed. As you were told try to inspect the car in depth and make sure it was only the flat that delayed delivery. Good luck

I had a similar experience with mine. It was built January 20th, after ship dates being pushed it was going to be shipped March 17th until a quality issue was discovered and it was sent back to the factory, thus missing the train. It finally shipped April 17th. Arrived at the railyard May 8th. Delivered to the dealership on May 22nd. I picked it up on May 26th.
I hope yours gets to you quicker than mine.

So what I mean by hot vehicle is the trucking company that delivers it has it flagged as a hot vehicle, which means it expedites it sometimes. Was your by convoy how long did it take?
