You could read this thread from the beginning, it might help. also, you could craigslist your tow dolly to offset the cost of the 4 wheel tow equipment 🤷‍♂️

I did read on the thread several months ago but it seems the guy who replied didn’t hit “reply” to my post he just ”tagged” me so I never saw his reply or updates.

Glad I made a good buy on the dolly I just hate having to resale things.

Thats unfortunate. And I understand how you feel about the resale stuff. Its tedious.

I was hoping for the dolly use also. Im now going the tow bar path(better way) but it might possible to use dolly. Today I noticed a tow truck towing a suv with the front up and the rear wheels upon strap-on wheels. Seems like a lot of work and your dolly would need brakes.

My tow dolly has surge brakes and really don’t understand why the rear wheels can’t be on the ground.

I see that Curt has the adapters now for the Modular bumpers. just ordered a set. What aux brake systems are you guys running? it appears that the bronco has electric assist and the aux brake i have says not to use on vehicles with electric assist booster?
Sean,

I went with the RVI Brake 3 and am loving the system so far. It fits on the floor without any adapter required and is very compact. I am also really enjoying their tablet display with tire pressure monitoring incorporated.

The new drive trains are too complex and not designed to be recreationally towed with 2 wheels off the ground. excessive wear of the transmission and transfer case will occur and ford will not warranty the drivetrain should it fail because of dolly towing.

The problem with the 2.7 V6 with EBB is the brakes will lock up when you try to use them in the first 30 to 45 mins unless we find a way to either keep the EBB on for systems like mine or a way keep the EBB off on systems like yours.

Hmm.....I ordered a 2.3 specifically because of flat towing and having the vacuum brakes, since my Air Force One brake system applies vacuum to the booster. Was thinking about changing to the 2.7 thinking that the electric boost would stay on all the time, but looks like it goes to sleep. I was concerned with draining the battery, but looks like that's not an issue since the electric boost turns off. Guess I'll stick with the 2.3.

Why don’t people with RVs just buy a trailer for $1500 more and save the wear on the vehicle being drug around?
I have pondered this myself….just get a trailer
