Just an FYI update:
We have now made 2 long trips with rocky mountain passes and busy city traffic all using the Ready Brake with Ready Brute Elite 11 tow bar. The brake cable takes a little time to fine tune so it is not too tight. After that we have had zero trouble with our Bronco being towed and having tow brakes.

The Bronco tows easy and our set up is fast to hook up. Just a little learning curve involved. We most likely will have the update for the 2.7 engine brake boost but it is not a problem without it with this system.

Can anyone provide a schematic of the Broncos brake light switch wiring or the color code for the wires? Looking to install an led in the coach to indicate when the brake pedal is in use.

There are schematics for the taillight wiring in this thread, but not the brake light switch.

FWIW, I attempted to tap into the brake light switch for the same purpose (and to install a relay to prevent the brake/directional conflict), and found the switch impossible to get to, without removing the dashboard.

You may want to tap into the taillights harness instead.

Here's the schematic.
Note about the brake lights themselves : They do not stay active, they go to sleep when the Electronic Brake Boost shuts down.

did you actually locate the switch? I pulled the panel below the steering column and still couldn’t find it.

No - I did a lot more disassembly than those bottom panels and braces and could only see it is up higher than the steering column, most likely behind the instrument cluster. I gave up looking for it after a few hours of ripping things apart.

Thanks Grant. Now to find the switch.

At least I have t lost my mind. Searching all under the dash. Certainly not in any obvious location. Running a wire from the brake light is sounding Mitch easier at the moment.

I'm throwing this out there on this thread so one of the experts here might find it.
I have towed the Bronco extensively with the tow bar inherited from my Jeep.
I want to get a Blue Ox Acclaim ball mount non binding to use with the Blue Ox base I already have. Printed data says 30" max spacing, tech support says they can' t recommend using on my Bronco with 30 1/2" C to C.
Does anyone know if it will physically fit or any reason this should not be done?

Got the first piece needed to flat tow our 22 2 door with 2.3, RVIbrake 3.
Next is shopping for the other items needed, any suggestions on best light set up, also are any of you using the recovery adapters on the OEM modulator bumper?

I'm running a roadmaster nighthawk with the roadmaster adapters for the recovery points on the OEM HD Modular Bumper. Pulled the Bronco almost 5000 miles over the last year with that setup, no issues.

Did you have to modify anything to get the adaptors to fit on the d-rings? The ones I received are too tight to slip over to put the pin in.
