I would have concerns that that flange hanging down and these being aluminum, one bad reverse in the rocks and I foresee some carnage.

good point, probably better if it is extended and creased to meet back at the main body of the plate on the other side too

Just glad to be seeing more options available. I'm sure things will eventually get revised and improved (perhaps by other companies).
