When the driver section is folded back it reminds me of a baby buggy. I am wondering how that could possibly with stand the wind at highway speed.

This is a good question, i'm sure a google search would get the answer from Bestop.

However, anecdotally, i've run about 55 mph in a Rubicon with the top folded back and it was quiet, without buffering and seemed fine. Being a rental Jeep, I didn't care as much as if it was my own, however.

I believe it comes with a couple of Velcro straps to keep it from opening up at highway speeds. My old JKUs were fine at 60-70ish with soft top back... Death wobble was a different story 😆

just tie it down with the included velcro straps (and follow the instructions as of where those go) and it won't open up and fly off. No idea how comfortable of a ride it'll be at that speed, but there's only one way to find out :)

Correct. They come with straps, although not sure how strong it will be:

Around 3 min mark

Had to rewind the video a few times as I couldn't catch the speed the video taker was going. 73-80 is what I could tell and that top wasn't moving anywhere. Affect on gas mileage is another story though. 🤪

1st person in this thread who understands the concept of "highway speed".

Freeway between home and work is signed at 75. If I drove that slow I'd get run over or shot.
on worn 37" tires with dodgy alignment, 75 might not be a viable highway speed. FWIW, around here, highways were all designed with the massive limit of 45 mph.

Stay safe out there with the shootings on your highways!

For sure...
My brother-in-law hopped onto I-10 yesterday just for a local trip, only needed to go about 3 or 4 exits... You can tell he just moved here. He was driving the speed limit (65 in town) and had trouble getting back into the right lane to exit because so many impatient zonies kept zipping around him on the right.🤣🤣
