I'm a day one reservation holder and was kicked to curb and must re-order a '22.
Since I'm basically starting over, can I switch dealers also? Mine sucks badly for communication and level of knowledge.

Has it been said for sure that we have to re-order? I’m forced 99 and my sales person isn’t even sure if we have to put it through again.
Sorry, I know that doesn’t answer your question and just adds another to your thread.

I think you can switch still but not sure how it affects your time stamp? It might not affect anything at all. But honestly, none of the dealers are much better. Have you tried going by to speak to their bronco specialist? My salesman is a nice man but completely in the dark. I called and asked for the specialist since I couldn’t go by (Live in north Houston and ordered in Hutto) and he was very helpful. It’s worth a shot.

Definitely interested in the responses received on this thread! Its unfortunate that I know exponentially more about the Bronco than anyone I've talked to at my dealership.

Replace Bronco with every car I've ever bought and you're me. I was a Ford salesman years ago and the truth is product knowledge doesn't write paychecks. The average person doesn't want to know what they are buying. They want 3 key features and a negotiation process that makes them feel like they got away with something (especially when they get ripped off).

Shit, I used to make an extra grand a year cash doing other salesmens product knowledge tests for them.

The best salesman I ever worked with was at nissan and he couldn't even name all the models. He was always switching people to used cars. They'd come in for an altima and leave in a 3 year old CTS and he'd make bank.

Are we not essentially starting a new order?
this was the letter:
Dear Future Bronco Owner,
There's nothing we want more than to get your Bronco to you.
But unfortunately, we're having appearance and quality issues with our hardtop roofs, such that Broncos produced to date will have their roofs replaced.
As you can imagine this is causing further delays in production timing, because we need to replace all existing hardtop roofs before we can make any new hardtop Broncos. As a result, we will not be able to get you a 2021 model year Bronco with a hardtop.
We know it's no consolation for the delay but for 2022 you'll have access to new colors, new options, and new special editions. More details on 2022 ordering will be sent out in September. Your dealer will reach out at that time to place your order and see how they might be able to help with any vehicle needs, making the wait for your Bronco a little more bearable. As a reminder, your reservation timestamp will remain with your order for scheduling priority in the 2022 model year.

I'm pretty sure you can change dealerships unless you have a VIN, and since you've been pushed to 2022, you do not have a VIN. You shouldn't lose your time stamp, but you will have to place a new order. If I were you, I'd shop around now and find a good dealership to work with so you can switch before the order banks open to prevent an unscrupulous dealer from automatically placing a new order for you without your approval.

It's not clear whether the order banks are open to dealerships in September (as early as next week) or in October, when the B&P is updated.

I hear you, I took a test drive in a BB and had to tell the salesperson that the rattle we were hearing was from the fold down table on the tailgate 😪

You are just ordering a MY22, since they will no longer be making MY21. So, yes, it’s sort of a reorder, but it’s actually not.

To put it another way… You have a ticket to see a movie, but the 7:00 was sold out by the time you got to the ticket window. So, now you have to get tickets for the 9:00 show.

I am switching from a wildtrak to badlands mainly because the interior is better, so I will be resubmitting my order when they open up.

...and these tickets are only good at this theatre (dealer). But, who really knows at this point. I have moved states since placing my reservation. I would surely like to see about how this might play out as well even though I have X-plan pricing through my dealer.

I have a July 2021 reservation and I ended up changing dealers. I called the Bronco hotline and was told that I had to cancel my reservation and do a new one. I did it since I have a very late reservation. Maybe the person I talked with didn't know what they were talking about, or maybe they did. You should call and see what they say.

My understanding too.

When you reserved (preordered) you are required to pick a dealer. I think the only way to change dealers is call Ford before you order.

If you ordered (for example 3/19 deadline) this is your dealer lock. You ordered through them, there is no way to change dealers post beyond cancelling and losing your place in line.
