Ford Accessories Kayak Carrier Any Good

Am considering the Rack Mounted Folding Kayak carrier from Ford as Thule is a good name brand for rack stuff I've used in the past. Does anyone have experience with this accessory hauling either 1 or 2 kayaks. I have the stock roof rack on my 2 door Big Bend and I believe I've read on other threads that the bars are not friendly for many after market accessories. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

I used some random rope I found the first time and then got these ratcheting tie downs to tie into the trail sights in the front and also used them on the rear to the tow hooks. I secured the kayaks to the OEM rack with the provided tie downs that came with the Leader folding rack. The ratchet tie downs were more for peace of mind.

Probably not the answer to your question, but on a kayak with flat gunwales the Ford Accessories Yakima canoe carrier works well.

If it is a plastic boat don't sweat it. Just tie it down to the rack and with bow and stern lines.
