I'm sure this being an export only color will fly well here.

And doesn't that pictured Bronco look to be a Robin's Egg blue non-Heritage model that so many people were hoping for?

While allot of this is true, we also shoot ourselves in the foot and make companies go overseas. Why is it cheaper for someone to ship materials over, have something made, shipped back, then transported around the country than to just do it here? Ther inlies the problem. If we want to bring things in house we need to have a real conversation about manufacturing costs and reasons.

Side note, maybe the aftermarket hardtop prices come down suddenly once they start being made overseas. ;)
There's a lot of politicians who would rather not have a factory built than have a factory that was non-union. Especially in the automotive sector.

at least they can get the chips there, Ford should just shutdown operations here and save the middleman work for someone else.

Do you really think a Chinese buyer is going to wait a year or more to get a Bronco? Ford can't even take care of the domestic market.

It will be made in China and sold in China. Not US-made. Right now there are imported broncos in China, all hardtop actually. The price is quite high (almost double MSRP here due to tax).

This move could alleviate the part shortage here actually, not a bad news.

I would love to see a side by side quality comparison of the US and China made hardtops. I'm willing to bet the quality of theirs will be leaps and bounds better than ours, not like that's saying much.

If they're being 100% supplied and built in China with parts that aren't being poached from US customer Broncos I got no issue with this and maybe some of these other international markets will get a China Bronco which would in turn get US folks theirs faster.

Ford Explorer Timberline debuts at Auto Shanghai

As the most capable Explorer ever, Ford Explorer Timberline made its official debut in China.
It is more advanced in terms of outdoor-inspired design and capabilities, including the unique Altyn Tagh Orange exterior color, the contrasted-color interior design with contour pattern, and the mountain pattern elements throughout the car, highlighting an exclusive sense of identity.

The Ford Explorer Timberline is equipped with a Torsen limited-slip rear differential, REVO3 all-terrain tires, and a higher ground clearance than the normal Explorer, bringing a more capable driving experience to meet Chinese customers’ needs for outdoor exploration.

At Auto Shanghai, Ford also debuted the next generation Ranger – the versatile midsize pickup truck that is “Built Ford Tough.” The pickup will soon be introduced in China, demonstrating that every Ford truck is built and tested to exceed customer expectations for durability, quality, reliability and capability.

Since 1982, five generations of Ford Ranger have set the benchmark in the mid-sized pickup truck segment, with more than eight million units sold globally.

Fine-tuned through the feedback of Ford pickup owners worldwide, Ranger has proven its capability in challenging off-road conditions, with vehicle testing demonstrating its ability to cover 1.5 million kilometers, the equivalent of circling the earth 40 times.

To fully meet customization and modification that pickup truck fans need, Ford provides optional OEM accessories for Ranger that are fully homologated to Chinese customers.
