Ford becomes "Official Vehicle" of King of the Hammers; does this mean Bronco will be there?

So they made it less ugly?
Well the lift and tires did improve its appearance over a stock Gladiator, but IMO smashing in the body panels and tearing off the plastic bits did not do much to make the vehicle more beautiful.

KOH is nothing I'd ever use as any sort of barometer in my vehicle choice.

I'd put it at around zero factory vehicles that can compete there, even highly modified rigs get destroyed.

Pointless as a measuring stick.

I mean...It's AWESOME. But roughly 927% of buyers won't use a Bronco in this manner.

Everybody runs the same course, as far as I'm aware.

It's a combination of high speed desert sections and very technical rock sections.
A few classes run parts of it in reverse so they can fall down the waterfalls instead of dragging themselves up. It's always amusing to see how many roll over, and listen to the roar of the crowd when someone does something daring.

It definitely isn't a race course a stock VW bug can complete.

That's the same truck they ran Baja with and will be running KOH again with, although it is more of a bed shell now.

Watch the Every Man Challenge. One of the classes is more stock-mod even though some of them can get pretty extreme. They are limited on how extreme they can go, though. On the first page of this thread is some of the specs.

I don’t see anything about Ford having anything to do with this vehicle in an official capacity...

Now I get why there's so much bitching from the SFA guys
The interesting thing about KOH is it's one of the few events where IFS and SFA rigs both compete in the same classes and are on fairly equal footing. The IFS rigs are faster in the desert sections, and the SFA rigs can bash through the rocks faster, but both types do both parts.

The overall winners for the last few years have been IFS rigs, but obviously these are completely custom IFS rigs more like a SxS on steroids than a stock truck.

Last year's overall winner:
