$4500 for an e bike is actually not that bad. High end bikes are $10K+

I built one using a Motobacane Lurch Fat tire as The donor and a a 1600 watt hot rod kit from Luna cycle with the 52v Panasonic Wolf pack. Added a tractor seat and wrapped it in cheap camo duct tape for about $1,500.
Had my fat ass going 45 mph downhill on the test drive.
Next time I'll be wearing full skids.

I'd probably electrocute myself trying to build my own.
I ordered a 7000W HPC Revolution a few weeks ago. I'm pretty excited, and hopefully I don't kill myself on it.

Ford e-MTB, $4,500? Compare to the TREK Rail MTB with 500w power, front and rear suspension, alloy frame, $4,500. Ford has 750w power (250 more) with a unusual seat. Treks similar e-MTB bike go up to $13,000 in Carbon. My base Trek front-only suspension bike, NO motor, a few upgrades, costs $2,000. The biggest problem with Ford's offering is the one size fits all . . . TREK offers 4 size ranges. At 6'5", I can't ride a one-size bike. Would live to see a review!
